Lakeside’s Inaugural Book Club

It's not too late to join in on the fun. There will be one more discussion of the book James by Percival Everett, a bold and thought-provoking retelling of Huckleberry Finn told through the eyes of Jim.

Everett's acclaimed novel raises deep questions about freedom, identity, race, and what it means to truly see another person's humanity.

We will meet on Tuesday, the 14th, at 10:00 a.m. See which book is chosen next.

No prior reading of Huckleberry Finn is required. All are welcome!

Our new processional cross was carried in on Easter morning. This cross is in memory of Carolyn Theis who was an integral part of worship and life at Lakeside for decades.

With spring in the air, it feels like the perfect time to share a little glimpse of life in Independent Living at Trinity. Between The Lodge, with its easy access to friends and activities, and our Garden Apartment Homes, with extra privacy and space, residents get maintenance-free living plus the comfort of knowing that if needs change, they can stay right here, “Where friends become family.” Our Health & Fitness Center, instructor-led classes, and indoor heated pool and whirlpool make it easier to build simple routines that keep body, mind, and spirit feeling stronger.

As a locally managed nonprofit serving seniors in Pine Bluff and Southeast Arkansas, we’re always working to deepen the care we offer.

On a quick community note, we’re glad to welcome Claude Mahend, our new Nursing Home Administrator who joined us in January, as part of that commitment to quality care.

Mission Needs

Items needed for ongoing ministries

Broadmoor Elementary: Cans of Ravioli etc. and Boxed Mac & Cheese.

In order to provide enough food for Broadmoor,

20 cans and boxes are needed weekly.

Neighbor to Neighbor: Tuna and other non-perishables like beans and rice.

Blessing Box: non-perishable items

Trinity Village: Personal hygiene items

Opportunity House: Personal hygiene items, socks, towels.

Items may be placed in the baskets by the elevator

or brought to the office.

Mid-Week Manna and Project Transformation

Mid-Week Manna will finish for the year on Wednesday, April 29th. It's been a wonderful year with our numbers of students and volunteers growing and learning together.

Keep an eye out here for upcoming Project Transformation News. This summer's camp begins June 9th and registration is now open but space is limited.
