Now that the busyness of the holidays is behind us and we are all looking forward to what the New Year has to bring, on behalf of myself and the Congregational Care Committee, thank you all, too many to name here, who participated in the Blue Christmas Service, held on December 16th, 2023. Following the service, a lady came up to me and shared that she first attended the Blue Christmas Service two years ago, following her sister’s death. She said “I found so much comfort in the music, prayers, message, and candle lighting that I have made it a point to attend each year since. I look forward to embracing the hope and assurance it provides for my everyday life.” Another person who attended with a friend, and it was her first Blue Christmas Service, said “I almost changed my mind at the last minute about coming, but I didn’t want to disappoint my friend after she had invited me. So, here I am and I am grateful that I came, it’s a beautiful service.” These are just a few comments; our Blue Christmas Service is for all who desire a time of peacefulness during the holiday season.
Sincerely,
Chris Fillimon

The Case for Love
Tuesday, January 23, 2024
At 4.00pm or 7.00pm
The Chatham Interfaith Council meets together each month in our various houses of worship to pray, to share a meal, to plan and work together for the Common Good of all people in our community, especially those who are hurting. At our most recent meeting, we viewed a trailer for a new documentary entitled: The Case For Love. The documentary has been endorsed and promoted by the National Council of Churches of the United States of America, and features people of various backgrounds and affiliations, who are working to build bridges between people, and exhibit faithful love in very difficult settings. The Chatham Interfaith Council is encouraging our congregations to purchase tickets to see this documentary on the one night that it is being shown in movie theaters throughout the country: Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 4PM and 7PM. The closest theater that is screening this documentary is the Cinemark Theater located at 1670 US Route 22 East, Watchung NJ 07069.
