Last week, our CUMC RISE team: Sami Main, Jeff Markay, Esther Van Doornik, Mia Semioli, Josh Tivade, spent time in northern Appalachia making homes safer, warmer and drier for residents in Friendship, NY. We joined six other church teams for the 43rd year of RISE, a service project started by CUMC pastor Rev. Dale Forsman. Between tar, turpentine, trivia nights and ice cream runs, our youth had a wonderful time of fellowship and living out their values.
If interested in joining us next year, either as a youth participant (must have completed 8th grade) or as an adult supervisor, contact Sami Main (smain@chathamumc.org) or Rev. Jeff.

Although the Adult Bible Study isn’t meeting during the summer, it’s good to listen to and read the scriptures during the week. On Sunday we heard Jesus in the Temple (Luke chapter 4), reading a passage from Isaiah, and proclaiming his role in the world. What do you believe is your role in the world? How do you bring good news to others? And what is that good news? | | | |
