Ion Bank Foundation’s Community Awards Program Update

Thank you to all of our parishioners for voting for St. Anthony Church!
Because you took the time to vote, we will be awarded $1,225.00.
Thank you to Ion Bank for supporting the organizations that your customers feel have the most impact to local communities.
God is truth, His word is trustworthy. God’s words are never empty or meaningless. God means what He says. And what He says has the power to change and to save us.
In the Gospel , Jesus compares God’s Word to seeds which a man scatters on the ground. Seeds are tiny. But, when one of them finds the right soil, it can grow into a fruitful tree. Like a seed, God’s Word doesn’t always seem like much. But, when we take it to heart and it finds good soil in us, it has the power to really change us, to give us life, and to make us fruitful.
There is a glory and a freedom sleeping within all of us, growing slowly, leading us to become more fully the women and men God intended us to be.
God tells us so in His Word. It is true, even though we cannot yet see it in all its fullness.
The 11:15 Mass will continue to be live-streamed for the time being.
Therefore St Anthony Church will broadcast on Facebook LIVE Sundays at 11:15 am .
The video of the Mass will be available on this page of our website after the Mass is complete.
First weekend of Masses recap:

It was wonderful to see so many parishioners back at Mass. We were well below the 100 person limit, with the 7:30 Mass having the most parishioners.
One parishioner expressed her thankfulness for the work that was done to guide people in remaining distant from one another.

In an effort to continue to provide as safe a space as possible, there were a few items that need to be mentioned:
  1. Please use the side aisles to move from the front of the church to the back
  2. Please use the center aisle to move from the back of the church towards the sanctuary.
  3. Singing has been shown to increase the spread of COVID-19. However, please feel free to hum to the music during Mass.
  4. Please make one line, not two when going to receive Communion. When you reach Father and Deacon Domenic, that is when you can go left or right, depending on which side of the church you are seated on.
  5. Once in front of Father or Deacon, please extend your hands out flat to receive the consecrated host, as you walk away, pause at the X on the floor, lower your mask, consume the host, put your mask back on and return to your pew down the side aisle.
  6. The tape on the seats is not meant to be sat on. Every other pew is marked with either 2 spots in the middle or several spaces on the ends. Please only sit where there is no tape. (See photos below)
  7. When leaving , please leave in one direction down the side aisles or in one direction up the center aisle, towards the sanctuary, following the arrows. Please leave space between each other, allowing a little extra time to exit.

While some might feel these guidelines are stringent, i t is important that guidelines are followed, that we respect all parishioners and be sure that everyone feels comfortable attending Mass.

Thank you and thank you to all of our volunteers who will be cleaning the church after each Mass!
Effective July 4th & 5th!

  • Please bring a face mask to wear, as it is required as you enter, while inside and as you exit.
  • Hand sanitizer is currently available, please have your own as well.
  • We ask that you mark where you sit with a post-it-note, which will be available at the entrances.
  • Missalettes will be removed from the pews, if you would like to take one home and bring it back with you each time you come to Mass, you may do that.

  • One of the guidelines is that we cannot have the ushers passing the basket to receive your offertory envelopes.
  • Three collection boxes will be available inside the church and they will be emptied in the presence of 2 ushers, after every Mass, into a secure bag.
  • If there is a second collection, please put your donation for that collection into a separate envelope. If it is a plain envelope, please mark it with the specific collection that it is for.
  • If you put loose cash in the box, it will be recorded under the weekly offering. Thank you.
Communion Procedure:
  1. The line to receive will be single file down the center aisle.
  2. Please use the markers for distancing while on line. Families can stay together.
  3. Communicants will receive the consecrated host in their hand, step to the side, lower their mask, consume the host, replace their mask.
  4. Return to their pew down the outside aisle.

Next weekend, we will have the opportunity to participate in that work of the Lord through this year’s Mission cooperative Appeal Collection. The Franciscan Friars of Our Lady of the Angels Province will be receiving our parish’s assistance.
