An Apartment in Vienna

We open our 2025–2026 season with a journey to 18th-century Vienna, where music filled the rooms of one remarkable apartment building owned by the famous Esterházy family in Vienna’s Michaelerplatz.

Marianna Martines, Joseph Haydn, Nicola Porpora, and the poet Metastasio lived and worked there, with W.A. Mozart often visiting to compose and perform.

On Sunday, November 16 at 5:00 pm, our choir will bring this world back to life in D.C. with An Apartment in Vienna, featuring our 150 voices, the City Choir Orchestra, and outstanding soloists from Wolf Trap Opera’s Studio Artist Program.
