January 2019 Newsletter
Dear Allegro Community,
As we near the end of the quarter and semester 1, please be sure your students are up-to-date on classwork. Remember, report cards go out on January 22 and the last day to turn in work from Q2 is January 18th!

We have a half day for students on Friday, January 18th. Students are released at 11:15 AM and need to be off campus by 11:45. There will be no flex period. Please be sure to arrange transportation for your student.

Allegro will be closed on Monday, January 21 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Be sure to head to the parade in downtown Charleston and watch some of our chorus students perform.

Allegro is no longer signing students out of school after 2 PM . If your student has an appointment or needs to leave prior to the end of the school day, please make sure you make arrangements to have your student picked up by 2 PM. We also need to make sure that students leaving at 2:30 meet their rides either in the car rider line or at a nearby predetermined location; we can not have students picked up on Broad Street or Queen Street. To ensure the efficiency of dismissal we ask that you make these arrangements and communicate them with your child prior to lunch when at all possible. Students who are waiting for rides after the 2:30 dismissal are not permitted to be on the grounds surrounding the Church or on the Church steps. There are many wonderful parks and public areas close by if needed, and Allegro is happy to work with students in the building until 3:30. Students may wait for their ride by the flagpole at the Allegro entrance, or off campus. We have received numerous complaints about students disrupting services and being in sacred spaces. Please help us be a good neighbor and be able to continue to use this facility!

As a reminder, students who have a 70 or below in a class must attend tutoring during flex period from 2:30-3:30. Teachers are available every day to be working with students in the cafeteria during this time, and individual classes have tutoring sessions scheduled each week.

Finally, our counseling department released their newsletter on last week. Click here if you missed it.
