Marketing Video Released
The Alliance Marketing and Branding Task Force is pleased to share the first segment of a marketing video that tells the story of the Copley family and how they decided to move to Iron Mountain after starting their family in Texas. David Copley, an Iron Mountain native, knew his family would benefit from the small town lifestyle and his wife Michelle, who hails from Texas, feels right at home in the area and couldn’t be happier. Thank you to the entire Copley family for sharing their story with us so that others can see the positives of living and working in our area!
Careers & Cheers November 27
Careers & Cheers is a social event for former residents to reconnect with their hometown and for those considering a move to the area to learn what the community has to offer. Attendees will hear what is new and exciting in the area along with information about the abundant career opportunities, all in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

If you have friends or family that will be returning to the area for the Thanksgiving holiday, please pass along this information and invite them to join us. Careers & Cheers will be held at Sol Blu Lounge located at 212 E. Ludington St. in downtown Iron Mountain on Wednesday, November 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. All will enjoy great conversation, complimentary beverages and pizza. Attendees can register to win a prize package of gift cards to new businesses in the area. Cheers!
Alliance Accepting Board of Directors Applications
The Alliance is now accepting applications to serve on the Board of Directors. There are five (5) seats available in January 2020 to interested Investors in good standing. The application and additional information can be accessed below. Applications are due on December 6, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. CT. All applications submitted by the deadline will be presented to the Nominating Committee for consideration and those selected will be recommended for a term of 3 years. The slate of Board nominations will be presented for consideration at the December Board meeting. Please contact Lois Ellis with any questions.
DCHS CEO Welcomed
Dickinson County Healthcare System recently welcomed new CEO Chuck Nelson to the community with a luncheon. Nelson met with community leaders and shared his background with attendees along with his vision for the future of DCHS, titled Focus Forward. You can review the key points of the Focus Forward plan here .  Continuing the tradition of excellence in healthcare, DCHS was recently awarded an ‘A’ in the fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade , a national distinction recognizing achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization driven by employers and other purchasers of health care committed to improving health care quality and safety for consumers and purchasers. Congratulations go out to the entire DCHS team for this achievement.

Northern Michigan Policy Conference
The Northern Michigan Policy Conference is a regional economic development conference led by the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance – a partnership of Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Organizations throughout northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. The event is slated for December 2 in Traverse City. The agenda focuses on the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance’s “Four Pillars of Rural Prosperity” which include:
