Identifying and Responding to Juvenile Victims of Human Trafficking Training

Sponsored by School of Social Sciences and Human Interaction and Hardin County Domestic Relations Court.



This training is approved by the State of Ohio for 6.25 CLEs and 6.5 CEUs.

• Emily Dunlap, JD – Staff Attorney – Advocating Opportunity

• Chelsea Gaffey, LSW – Juvenile Justice Human Trafficking Liaison – Ohio Department of Youth Services

• Vanessa Perkins – Survivor Consultant


CONTENT:

This interactive training is intended to equip child-serving professionals with the tools and skills needed to identify and respond to juvenile victims of trafficking in their own communities. Through activities, case studies, and the knowledge of subject matter experts, attendees will learn how to recognize signs of trafficking, understand dynamics of exploitative relationships, build empathy with youth who may be experiencing a trafficking situation, and identify available resources to support youth who have been trafficked.

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) Program


The WOTC program provides federal tax credits to Ohio employers that hire individuals from one of several target groups. Credits range from $1200 to $9600, based on the target group and the number of hours worked.
