FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
Dear Members, Associates and Friends,
This newsletter celebrates a long tradition of artistic excellence. Enjoy the articles compiled by our Editor in Chief, Michael Gabriele. Among the many features you will learn about, is the lifelong participation with our organization of artists like, Abraham Ginsburg and Max Ginsburg, father and son, who have established their legacies in the art world. You will also get a better glimpse and insight of our $10,000 Butler purchase award winner Dean Mitchell and our Gold, Silver and Bronze medal award winners: Ott Jones, Zimou Tan and William Kennon. See what makes them stand out.
We would like to congratulate the following Elected Members and Associates on their upcoming solos:
Elected Member Solos: DeAnn L. Prosia, Judy Takacs, Michael A. Bignell, Sharon Pitts and Michael Gabriele; Associate Solos: Jessica L. Bryant, Luz-Mary Harris and Jack Puglisi. Please see links and more info below to their exhibitions.
Submissions for the 110th exhibition have opened!! To enter and view our prospectus click here
In closing,I would also like to say, this newsletter commemorates 110 years of Allied Artists of America exhibiting and promoting artists and their work. Our 2023 award total is a substantial amount, over $30K. We will celebrate our 110th exhibition at The Butler Institute of American Art. It will be an invitational selected from our accepted artist list. This year we will fill two galleries at the Butler. I have to thank all of Elected Members and Associates for paying their dues and supporting Allied. It is your dues that keeps our organization alive. To pay dues or join, please click here. It costs alot of money to secure the galleries in our venues, produce a catalog, pay all the expenses involved to advertise, manage awards and membership, as well as submission and internet costs.
We are always looking for volunteers and prospective board members. We could not have this organization without their help and dedication. If you have interest in serving on the board please send me a note at: alliedpresident22@gmail.com If there are future openings we can consider those who are interested.
Thank you,

ALLIED ARTIST REPORTER ENCOUNTERS SILENT SECURITY GUARD, DAZZLING ART AT 2022 BUTLER INSTITUTE EXHIBITION
Photo shown above:: Allied Artists of America 109th reception at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, OH
I arrived early. The Butler is considered a premier collection of American art, and I hadn’t ever visited the museum. I’m a big Chuck Close fan and wanted to see his work in the museum. Also targeted Norman Rockwell’s “Lincoln the Railsplitter,” Albert Bierstadt’s “The Oregon Trail,” and works by Allied Artists of America members Gary Erbe, Max Ginsberg, and Gabriela Gonzalez Dellosso. The museum didn’t disappoint, I walked around in awe; an amazing collection with large, colorful exhibition rooms and space for the artwork to breathe.

WE WISH TO EXTEND A WARM WELCOME TO THE FOLLOWING ARTISTS INVITED TO FULL MEMBERSHIP AFTER THE 110TH EXHIBITION

DEAN MITCHELL MAINTAINS HIS GOLD STANDARD
Dean L. Mitchell, as the recipient of the $10,000 Butler Institute of American Art Purchase Award for his brilliant watercolor painting “St. Augustine Light,” is one more indication that he’s hit his stride as a current grand master of American art.
Mitchell received the award as part of the Allied Artists of America’s 109th exhibition held at The Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio. But this honor extends an already impressive string of honors for his artwork...

MAX GINSBURG GARNERS 'AUDREY LOVE' AWARD AND REFLECTS ON SOURCES OF ARTISTIC INSPIRATION
“Humanity and the realism of form and content inspire me,” Ginsburg answered. “I’m inspired by the art of many Old Masters, such as Rembrandt’s powerful and truthful paintings of people, and Goya’s fearlessness in his “Disasters of War,” and the art of Kaethe Kollwitz’s love of humanity. They all express my basic theme that is “Truth is Beauty.”

ABRAHAM GINSBURG REMEMBERED
The work of Abraham Ginsburg reveals the mark of a great painter. It is memorable and explains a lot about his son, who is also a gifted artist, Max Ginsburg. I encountered Abraham’s work briefly in the 90’s when I was a student in Max’s painting class at the School of Visual Arts.

SPOTLIGHT ON GOLD MEDAL WINNER: OTT JONES
Whenever sculptor Ott Jones needs a jolt of artistic inspiration, all he has to do is—quite literally—look out his window in Bozeman, Montana, to marvel at the majestic plains, animals and mountains of Big Sky country. Jones, his wife Joan of 35 years and their four children make their home in Bozeman...

SPOTLIGHT ON BUTLER AWARD WINNERS
Zimou Tan’s artistic career spans two distinct cultures, China and the United States, earning major awards and honors for his work in both countries. Most recently, he received the $2,000 Allied Artists of America Silver Medal at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio, for his stunning landscape/dreamscape narrative painting “Valley of Dry Bones.”
A large window bathes his studio with beautiful light, which illuminates the bare floor, the radiator, and brick walls painted white. This daily sunlit inspiration led to his stark, unadorned oil-on-linen painting “Studio Floor,” which captured the Allied Artists of America’s Bronze Medal of Honor $1,000 cash award at the organization’s 109th annual exhibition, held at the Butler Institute of American Art, Youngstown, Ohio.
