WELCOME TO 2025

As we kick off the year, we’re thrilled to share updates about our initiatives and plans for the months ahead. With your support, we made 2024 an incredible year, and we’re excited to build on that momentum in 2025!

CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH

February is Black History Month—a time to honor the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. As we celebrate this month, we encourage you to reflect on the significance of Black history and continue advocating for racial equity year-round.

Here are a few tips to celebrate and continue the spirit of Black History Month:

  1. Support Black-Owned Businesses: Make a conscious effort to shop locally and support Black entrepreneurs in your community.
  2. Educate Yourself: Explore books, films, and documentaries by Black creators that delve into history, culture, and innovation.
  3. Attend Events: Participate in Black History Month celebrations, workshops, or lectures in your area.
  4. Advocate for Change: Engage in conversations about racial equity, volunteer with organizations working to address systemic issues, and amplify Black voices.
  5. Continue the Work Year-Round: Commit to making Black history a part of your everyday awareness by celebrating and supporting Black culture, art, and achievements beyond February.

Let’s honor the past while shaping a brighter, more equitable future.

February is...

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD): February 7

February 7 marks National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD), an annual observance first recognized in 1999. This day serves as a critical reminder of the disproportionate impact HIV continues to have on Black communities while also highlighting the resilience and progress made in reducing HIV rates.

Over the years, Black communities have made significant strides in HIV prevention, education, and treatment. However, systemic challenges such as racism, discrimination, and a longstanding mistrust in the healthcare system remain barriers to equitable access to prevention and care services. These factors can discourage individuals from seeking testing, engaging in prevention strategies like PrEP, or adhering to HIV treatment plans.

NBHAAD is an opportunity to reflect on these challenges and take action. Together, we can:

  • Educate ourselves and others about the impact of HIV and how to prevent it.
  • Encourage Testing to help individuals know their status and connect them to care.
  • Support Community Involvement by creating spaces where open conversations about HIV can take place without stigma or judgment.
  • Promote Treatment and Care to ensure those living with HIV receive the support they need to thrive.

At Allure Alliance, we are committed to fostering community-led solutions to address these disparities and empower Black individuals to take control of their sexual health. On this National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, let’s come together to honor the progress we’ve made, confront the challenges that remain, and work collectively to end the HIV epidemic in Black communities.
