During the presentation, Edgar will share some of the amazing work that he has been involved with in Growing Youth in our Community and Beyond through the Maxwell Leadership Foundation, and his work with the Air Cadet Program.
From the Maxwell Leadership Foundation, he will share the impact of "I LEAD", a values-based leadership development program designed for students. From his work with the Air Cadet Program, he will also discuss the incredible positive impact on youth in Canada, specifically the Glider Flying Program, and outline his role in being the lead in the acquisition of new tow aircraft for the Atlantic Region.
Edgar will also share and illustrate how the relationship between personal growth and leadership cannot be overstated. In order to achieve your maximum effectiveness as a leader, it's not enough to focus solely on growing your section, your company or your organization - but rather the focus needs to be an integration of your own personal growth and your enterprise with the premise that only by also growing yourself, will you ever be able achieve the best possible positive results.
Edgar has been with Transport Canada as an Aviation Safety Inspector (Flight Operations) since 1999 and maintains currency on the Cessna Citation Turbo Jet. For his work with youth in the Air Cadet Program, he was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, Certificate of Honour from the Board of Governors of the Air Cadet League of Canada, and the Distinguished Service Medal. He also received a Certificate of Commendation from the Government of Canada for his work in flying inspectors to key locations for the safety and security of our airports the day after 9/11. Most recently, he received the Rotary Innovator Award from Rotary International District 7815.
Edgar serves - and has served - on multiple boards: Past-President and current 1st Vice-President of the New Brunswick Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada; past Vice-President of the Air Cadet League of Canada; past Chair for the Mobile One Food Bank; current Board member of Livingston Adventures Youth Camp, Alma City Club, Greater Moncton Progress Club; and is the Youth Exchange Officer for the Moncton Rotary Club, as well as its Secretary.
He sits on the President’s Advisory Council for the Maxwell Leadership Organization, the National Steering Committee with the Department of National Defence to advise on the National Flying Program for Air Cadets across Canada, and is the lead to raise the funds necessary to acquire new tow aircraft for the Gliding Program in the Atlantic region.
He joined the John Maxwell Team of Coaches in 2015 and is passionate about personal growth, leadership and adding value to others.
