Springs Recovery Connection Mission
To strengthen the recovery community through peer and family support, public education and advocacy.
We walked through 2020 together.
An overwrought healthcare system. Unprecedented unemployment. People feeling stressed, secluded, and alone. As COVID-19 has threatened our country, it has created the perfect storm in the addiction world.

You stepped up. You helped us.

Springs Recovery Connection raised over $100,000 this year through our COVID Relief and Breakfast Fundraisers. Because of your help, we continue to offer programs for families and individuals who reach out to us for recovery support.

Thank you for your support in 2020!

What’s behind the historic spike in drug overdose deaths under COVID-19
In a year when the coronavirus has racked up an unbearable death toll, recent preliminary data from the federal government suggests an overlap with another staggering figure: More Americans died from drug overdose in a 12-month period than at any other point in history.

Recovery Hero: Charlotte Nelson
My name is Charlotte Nelson and I have been in recovery for a little over two years.
Since taking the leap of faith into recovery, I have been able to learn and grow as a person. I graduated college, but most importantly I regained my confidence, love, and sense of purpose in life. I feel I am becoming whom I was meant to be, and I now see life as a journey with endless possibilities.

Sober Reality for the Food and Beverage Industry
Ben’s Friends is the food and beverage industry support group offering hope, fellowship, and a path forward for professionals who struggle with substance abuse and addiction.
Founded in honor of Ben Murray, a lifelong chef who took his own life after struggling with alcoholism for years, Ben’s Friends exists to provide a safe haven and an anonymous, judgment-free forum for workers in an industry that has one of the highest rates of substance abuse in the country.

Connection to Humanity Quiz
Some people feel a strong sense of kinship with all members of humankind, no matter what differences or distances might exist between them; others have a tendency to keep those feelings closer to home.

The quiz below assesses how deeply you identify with all of humanity, independent of your identification with your country or community. It is a simplified, adapted version of a scale recently developed by Sam McFarland, Matthew Webb, and Derek Brown, psychologists at Western Kentucky University.

Where you get depression care matters, study finds
In the United States, more than half of people living with a mental health disorder do not receive treatment, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, which is why primary-care clinics can play a leading role in depression care.
Research shows that collaborative care programs in which primary-care providers work with a depression care manager and a designated psychiatric consultant can more than double the likelihood of improving depression outcomes. But a new study published in Health Affairs shows that not all care is equal.
