Sassy Stitches!

Row by Row is just around the corner!  The theme this year is "On the Go" and you can enjoy seeing all the North Carolina participating shops' rows on the NC Row by Row Facebook page.  Between the "Go" and "Sew" is a little road with cars going to a quilt shop of course!  Row by Row officially begins on June 21st.  Stop in to get your free pattern, kit, license plate, and other goodies!

Update on the Possible Road Closing
After a few calls to the Town of Franklin, we are pretty sure the road in front of the shop will NOT be closing. Thank goodness!
Sassy Stitches is proud to announce that Andrea Walker of "Walker Quilting Company" will now be picking up quilts at the shop! Andrea's work is just stunning and we are so excited to have her on our team. Check out her website and you will be amazed at her gorgeous quilting!
The Breakfast Club Meeting that was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 17th has been moved to Saturday, July 1.
Sassy Stitches is now open from 10: 00 until 5:00 during the week. Our Saturday hours will remain the same.  10:00 - 2:00
Remember we are providing opportunities for you to come work on your club projects during the "Sit & Sew" times this year or if
you're not in a club, just come sew! These days have been set aside for you to use our classroom and the supplies while you fellowship with others and work towards completing projects.   BUT . . . YOU MUST RESERVE A SPOT.  We are limiting the number of people to 10 on each of the sewing days so if you are interested you need to call and reserve your spot.  It's totally free!  But we only have room for so many so let us know you're coming and we will let you know if there is still room. You can get into the classroom at 9:45 and sew until 4:00!  WOW!
Staff can answer questions and help you briefly but they will be working on the floor taking care of other business. This is not class time so please be respectful of our staff members. You can order lunch or bring your own. Come sew with us!   Did I mention it's FREE ?!?!?
Until next Sunday, have a wonderful week and come see us!

Colorwheel Pin Cushions
I know you've seen these cute little guys.  These are like mini footstool pincushions.  These are called Color Wheel Pincushions and a few of our staff played with making some and we just love them!  We will have a class for you to make one of these cuties on
Wednesday, June 21st from 10:00 - 12:00.
Cost is $40 (which includes your kit)
You will only need to bring your fabric and a matching button.

This class is full! We are taking a list in case someone cancels and we will most likely have Janice back asap to give you another opportunity to take her class. Keep an eye on the newsletter for another class announcement!

Janice Pope will be teaching a class at Sassy Stitches where she will share with you everything you need to know about binding.  You will need to bring something to bind so be thinking about that and make plans to save something just for this class!
Quilting since 1977, students attending her classes describe Janice as passionate, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and engaging. Whether teaching one of her simple quilt patterns, bag patterns, or a technique', novice as well as experienced quilters will leave with new insight and skills.
An award winning quilter who has taught both domestically and internationally, Janice resides in Raleigh, NC with her husband of 35+ years and enjoys having two of her six grandsons nearby. Check out her website at Anything But Boring.

This 3 hour class will be held on Tuesday, June 27th from 10:00-1:00.

Show & Tell
Brenda USED to be one of our beginners.  We can't hardly call her a beginner any more!  Way to go, girl!

Jerrie made this beautiful quilt using one of the CLP patterns.  She added the outer flowers.  Wow!

Monica shared her Dresden quilt and table runner with her Tool Time class last week.  I wonder if she likes Holly Taylor fabric?

Ronnie shared two of his quilts with us.  Nice job!

Linda is a quilt making machine!  Absolutely stunning work!

Kim's secret power is making doll clothes.  How cute is this?

Monica has been making these CLP "Wave Runner" table runners like crazy! She can make one in an afternoon and says they are SEW easy to make.  I think they're pretty, too.

Another completed project from Sharon's "Tulip" class!

Daisy came to visit!  I thought I had a better picture.  She's a sweetie!

Ryan's Case for Smiles
Our charity focus at Sassy Stitches is Ryan's Case for Smiles. This is an organization that provides fun pillowcases for sick children .  ALL of our donations will be used in Asheville, NC at Mission Children's Hospital. I volunteered for this charity for several years and have personally delivered pillow cases to kids at Mission Children's Hospital and assure you it brings great joy to sick children to pick out a fun pillowcase. When you read the story about Cindy and her son, Ryan, you will understand what a great cause this is. It's the perfect charity for anyone who sews! Here is a link to the organization's website.
We will accept pillowcases, fabric donations for making pillow cases and monetary donations. If you choose to make pillowcases, there are tips on the website (see link above) about making them. The volunteers who take the pillowcases wash them before delivery. Something so simple as a fun pillowcase really does bring a smile to a sick child.  THANKS!

Lindy, Anne, and the Best Staff EVER!
