Frankie Bones & Fire Hazard (Americana)
8-10pm, No Cover

Singer songwriter for over 20 years Frankie Bones' music is shaped in the roots of acoustic folk rock ~ inspired by James Taylor, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Jackson Browne, he takes what many would call "standards" and finds a way to make them his own.   Recently he picked up the ukulele as a shtick, and as it turns out it's a real crowd pleaser, covering the likes of Dire Straits, Jimmy Buffett, Paul Simon, and The Beatles....plus The Rolling Stones.... At Forbidden Island they break out the Ukulele and Congas!

Saturday May 16

Sunday May 17
  The Aqua Velvets (Surf Matinee)
 3-6 pm

The Aqua Velvets are an American surf rock revival band from San Francisco, California, formed in the early 90s by guitarist Miles Corbin. Rather than simply recreate the vintage 1963 surf sound, Corbin set out to add depth and dimension with original songs that included strings, horns, keyboards, and exotic instruments. The result was a cinematic sound more akin to film composers like Ennio Morricone and John Barry.

Brad "Tiki Shark" Parker & S.P Grogan
book signing/ meet & greet/ mini art show
6-9pm, No Cover

Join us as we welcome renowned Tiki artist Brad "Tiki Shark" Parker to our Island for a book signing (see info below) and meet & greet/ art show. Known for his painting, aptly titled Forbidden Island (pictured above), Tiki Shark moved from Hollywood to the Big Island of Hawaii when he decided to pursue his own vision, "Low Brow Art" about Modern Tiki Culture. Brad Parker's style is reminiscent of the old Flemish masters, but with counter culture subject matter. It's unique. It's strange. But it's familiar. It's Hawaii seen through a pair of cartoonland glasses.

Best-selling author S.P. Grogan will be personally signing his tiki noir thriller ATOMIC DREAMS AT THE RED TIKI LOUNGE, which features the surrealistic island art of Brad "Tiki Shark" Parker. Atomic Dreams will be available in a limited numbered edition and both author and artist will be present to sign and inscribe your own copy.
