Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully the fruits of his redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Becoming_Beloved_Community_p1.png

As we prepare to celebrate baptisms with our Latino/Hispanic community in Mitchell and Yancey Counties this coming weekend, we are reminded of the powerful invitation of John the Baptist: to turn our lives around and realign our hearts with God’s love and purpose.

We are living in a time when this invitation is needed more than ever, a time to pause, reflect, listen deeply, and intentionally recenter ourselves, our communities, and our relationships in the life-giving work of building God’s beloved community.

This September, we invite you to join us for the diocesan Becoming Beloved Community / Dismantling Racism Workshop. We encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, and community members to take part in two meaningful days of conversation, reflection, connection, and renewed commitment to the ongoing work of dismantling racism in our communities.

Together, we will explore how we can continue becoming a community rooted in love, justice, reconciliation, and the dignity of every person.

September 11 | 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. | Zoom

September 12 | 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. | Epiphany, Newton

Bishop Transition Updates

Bishop Search Survey Reminder

We are so excited with all of the responses to the Landscape survey, thank you! If you haven’t taken it yet, we hope to hear from you soon. It only takes a short amount of time to share with us essential feedback as we determine who we are at this place in time and where we would like to be in the future.

The scope of this survey is wide, so please know it is expected in some sections you may answer many of the questions with “I don’t know.” That answer in itself is good data! Also know, as you go through the survey, you will find other sections that may feel easier to fill out. Bottom line - persevere! We need all our voices.

This survey will be open until August 30th and we don’t want to miss your responses! The link and QR code are below.

If you have any questions, please email us at BishopSearch@diocesewnc.org.

Communications, important dates, committee information, and all relevant and pertinent information regarding the bishop transition and search process can be found on the Bishop Transition Webpage.
