As we prepare to celebrate baptisms with our Latino/Hispanic community in Mitchell and Yancey Counties this coming weekend, we are reminded of the powerful invitation of John the Baptist: to turn our lives around and realign our hearts with God’s love and purpose.
We are living in a time when this invitation is needed more than ever, a time to pause, reflect, listen deeply, and intentionally recenter ourselves, our communities, and our relationships in the life-giving work of building God’s beloved community.
This September, we invite you to join us for the diocesan Becoming Beloved Community / Dismantling Racism Workshop. We encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, and community members to take part in two meaningful days of conversation, reflection, connection, and renewed commitment to the ongoing work of dismantling racism in our communities.
Together, we will explore how we can continue becoming a community rooted in love, justice, reconciliation, and the dignity of every person.

We appreciate your continued prayers during this time. As the Search Committee for the 8th bishop of WNC, we know that listening to all of you is essential in guiding our process. If you have not taken the time to respond to this survey, please do! We need your voice as we shape and share our story. The survey will close on August 30th - 13 days to go!
So here's the challenge for us to meet: Over 10 years ago, during our last Bishop’s Search, we took a similar survey. We had over 800 responses - which is great! But this time around we think we can beat it. So far we’ve had close to 700 responses, and we have 13 more days to go! Shall our goal be over 1,000? More? We’ve got this!
