Safe Church Administrator Training is Tonight at 6 p.m.

Does your parish have a Safe Church administrator? Do they need training and support to help your church ministry leaders and volunteers complete the online safe church training?

Eden Lewis Returns to Diocesan Office with New Role

Eden is back in the office, now supporting the bishop as the Director of Lifelong Christian Formation. Her ministry will focus on equipping and empowering clergy and lay leaders in programs for children, youth, young adults, and adults. She will be working with Charlotte Garcia, who is staying on as our Coordinator for Children, Youth, and Family Ministries.

FORMATION ARTICLE: How Do You Choose the Best Curriculum?

Join them for a monthly Zoom for Children, Youth, and Family leaders on the first Tuesday of each month. The first will be 10 a.m. Feb. 6.

The Office of Government Relations in The Episcopal Church has released a webpage of resources to follow the conflict in Gaza, Palestine, and Israel. Celebration for the Feast of Absalom Jones

In collaboration with St. Matthias Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina will hold a celebration for the Feast of Absalom Jones at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3 at St. Matthias, Asheville. The Rt. Rev. José McLoughlin will be the celebrant, and the guest speaker will be Dr. Mark Anthony Jefferson.

Young Adult Book Study Tuesdays in February

Join the Center for Spiritual Wisdom for a young adult book study exploring the subject of vocation with Parker Palmer’s Let Your Life Speak: Listening for the Voice of Vocation. The study will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in February, beginning Feb. 6, in Brevard. In this book, Palmer uses several essays to demonstrate personal and communal perspectives to discover the higher meaning of genuine self and purpose in our lives. Led by Colin Rice, CSW Assistant for Communications & Operations, and Abby Glass, a friend of the Center and local CrossTown Youth Minister. 

Neighboring Diocese to Host Cursillo Weekend

The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina is again conducting a Cursillo weekend, April 11–14, 2024. It will be held at Camp Walter Johnson, Lexington, N.C. Cursillo is a Diocesan program and is an opportunity for Episcopalians seeking to grow their faith to meet and learn together. At Cursillo you will experience the gift of God’s love through shared prayer, worship, study and fellowship. For more information contact Ann Lockhart and visit nccursillo.org for an application to attend.
