How Do You Choose the Best Curriculum?

As the new year unfolds before us, take a moment to consider some key questions about choosing curricula for your groups and congregations. Formation Director Eden Lewis shares some tips and resources in this article.

Brevard ECW Supports Volunteers at Local Literacy Project

The Episcopal Church Women of St. Philip’s, Brevard, awarded a $6,000 grant to the Augustine Literacy Project-Brevard for operational expenses to support its volunteer tutor training. The Shop of St. Philip’s, located at 219 S. Caldwell St., is the largest operation of the ECW. Its mission is to provide affordable, quality clothing and household items to the community, with the majority of raised funds returning to the community through outreach grants.

St. James Partners with Coins for Change

Small boxes lovingly given can make great change in the lives of others. Coins for Change partners with missions and parishes all across the island of Cuba to provide Vacation Bible Schools to children and their parents. This year St. James, Hendersonville, became a new partner.

Resources for the Conflict in the Holy Land

The Office of Government Relations in The Episcopal Church has released a webpage of resources to follow the conflict in Gaza, Palestine, and Israel. The page includes ways to take action to support the citizens affected by the conflict, statements from leaders, partner resources, prayers, social media, and a list of press releases. The page is being updated as the situation develops.

Organize Portion of Parochial Report with New Web App

The General Convention Office has released a new web-based app that helps tally items on the annual parochial report relating to church services and attendance.

The parish register app allows users to track aspects of every liturgy that takes place in their congregation and then adds that data to the church’s parochial report, the Rev. Molly James, deputy executive officer of General Convention, told Episcopal News Service. Every congregation in The Episcopal Church is required to complete the parochial report annually. This year’s report based on 2023 data is due March 1.
