To honor the one year anniversary of Helene, we are holding a Diocesan Eucharist at Lake Logan Conference Center. This event is open to all with limited capacity, so please RSVP. There will be a lunch at no cost to follow. Please join us as we continue to heal and rebuild together.
This is a family friendly event! There will be programming for kids and youth after worship and Lake Logan is graciously inviting all to spend their day on property - enjoy the lakefront, play in the creek, go for a hike, or just rest in the beauty of God's creation at Lake Logan.
We still want to hear your experiences from Helene. What are the stories from this time that we need to remember?
Access to this link has been restored, so if you tried before and it did not work, please try again! Some stories may be used for a project at the Helene Anniversary Eucharist.

Good Shepherd, Hayesville Raises Dental Fund Through Annual Bake Sale
Several years ago, a generous anonymous donor created the dental fund for children without insurance in Clay and neighboring counties. GSEC launched the Blueberry Festival last year to provide ongoing support for this ministry, with a bake sale provided by parishioners called Everything Blueberry.
Festival organizer Patti Brownlee says the program has served 17 young people to date. “Most referrals come from the dental clinic to the church office, usually just for basic care. But this year they’ve had two major cases. The first one was a child who needed major dental care beyond what the clinic could do, to the tune of over $2,000. School nurses worked with the health department to make it happen.”
In the second case, a child’s fall precipitated an emergency situation, again above the level of care the clinic could provide. A school counselor paid for the treatment and the parish dental fund will arrange reimbursement.
Thanks to this work, young people are receiving not just dental treatment, but dignity and hope.

Evening activities include live local music, history and ecology talks, and of course, good ol’ fashion Camp Henry campfire sing-a-longs.
