In early 2024, St. Andrew’s on-the-Hill in Canton established the Walter Headrick Memorial Fund. Created from a $10,000 endowment, it provides grants to help offset tuition, fees, childcare, etc. incurred by mothers pursuing an academic or vocational degree. Five grants were awarded this year.

Grace Church in the Mountains will host an extraordinary exhibit August 11 through September 22 featuring 20 gallery-sized prints from The Saint John’s Bible, the first hand-written and illuminated Bible since the printing press. This unique event aims to celebrate God's Word through art, scripture, and collective experience, and the church will offer programming along with the exhibit.

Resources for the Conflict in the Holy Land
The Office of Government Relations in The Episcopal Church has released a webpage of resources to follow the conflict in Gaza, Palestine, and Israel. The page includes ways to take action to support the citizens affected by the conflict, statements from leaders, partner resources, prayers, social media, and a list of press releases. The page is being updated as the situation develops.

Weekly Centering Prayer Group
Join the parish of St. John's Episcopal Church, Asheville, for a weekly prayer group following Martin Laird's Into the Silent Land.

Celtic Eucharist Hike
The hikes are open to all and tailored to accommodate a variety of fitness levels. Each 3-hour hike includes a liturgy, silent reflection, and ends with the Holy Eucharist at St. Francis Chapel. Bring your own lunch for a shared meal on the Kanuga Lodge Patio or purchase from the Dining Hall. We’ll climb the Rufus Mogan Trail (moderate ascent and at a pace comfortable for everyone) and hear the readings, then hike in silence to Geyer Longs Rock overlook. Remember to bring sufficient water, sunscreen, snacks, a raincoat, and a head covering. No RSVP or reservation required. In case of inclement weather, if a hike is canceled, the cancellation will be announced via email and posted ASAP on Facebook.

Sacred Music in the Mountains
Alumni Voices and Instruments of the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir
For 36 years, members of the University of Notre Dame Folk Choir graced the campus with their unique gift of sacred song. Combining four-part harmonies, texts both ancient and modern, organ, guitar, strings, and winds, they brought their song to all corners of the English-speaking world. And now alumni of this esteemed ensemble will gather at St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain, NC.

The Golden Age of American Song
Broadway comes alive on Sunday, June 23 when Friends of Music at the Episcopal Church of St. John in the Wilderness concludes its 2023-24 series with a varied presentation. Vocalists Lori Griswold and Matthew Ruley will be joined by the St. John Parish Choir led by Organist and Director of Music Dewitt Tipton on piano.
The program, held in the Parish Hall across Rutledge Drive from the historic hilltop church building, is free and open to the public. Parking and handicapped transportation are readily available.

Labyrinth Walk
Join St. Luke's, Asheville, for an evening labyrinth walk in celebration of summer. A brief introduction will be given at 7 p.m. You may wish to bring a journal for writing after you walk. The labyrinth is built on uneven ground, so please wear comfortable shoes or walk barefoot. For more information call 828-254-2133.
