Lenten Reflection

God was with the people of Israel in the wilderness, offering presence and provision for the wandering journey. They didn't go hungry, and in fact, they had exactly what they needed. Even in the midst of the desert, the people of God experienced fullness. While life can sometimes feel sparse and desolate, there are also times when life can feel full and good and abundant. It's easy to relax our spiritual development in times of abundance, taking our eyes from heaven and looking to the things of earth. Yet God is with us in the fullness as well, just as present as when we experience scarcity and emptiness. Keep looking to God, both in the times of fullness and the times of desolation.

Bishop's Cup Golf Tournament Tees Up to Support Lake Logan, Camp Henry

Gather on the green at Reems Creek this spring for the first-ever Bishop's Cup, a golf tournament to raise funds for Camp Henry and Lake Logan.

Show your support by gathering your foursome (pro-level play not required!) or by becoming a sponsor. Multiple sponsorship levels and opportunities are available. Proceeds will help to send youths to camp this summer and in the maintenance of Lake Logan.

Resources for the Conflict in the Holy Land

The Office of Government Relations in The Episcopal Church has released a webpage of resources to follow the conflict in Gaza, Palestine, and Israel. The page includes ways to take action to support the citizens affected by the conflict, statements from leaders, partner resources, prayers, social media, and a list of press releases. The page is being updated as the situation develops.

Join the Good Friday Offering

Since 1922, the Good Friday Offering has provided a way to express support for the ministries of the three dioceses of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East. These gifts continue to make a difference in the lives of many in the homeland of Jesus through supporting life-giving ministries, like the eye clinic in Ras Morbat and the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza.

Clergy Renewal of Vows

All clergy are invited to join Bishop José for the annual Clergy Renewal of Vows service on Thursday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of All Souls in Asheville. In the midst of the busy season of Lent, this service is an opportunity to pause, slow down, and gather in fellowship, prayer, and mutual support, remembering the vows we took in ordained ministry.

Churches in two Pennsylvania Dioceses Raise Funds to Eliminate Millions in Medical Debt

The leaders of two Pennsylvania dioceses – Central Pennsylvania Bishop Audrey Scanlan and Bethlehem Bishop Kevin Nichols – on March 10 celebrated the efforts of the Help, Healing and Hope initiative, through which churches from both dioceses raised $30,000 to eliminate $3 million in medical debts of fellow Pennsylvanians.

During an Evensong service at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, the two bishops joined the congregation as sheets of paper representing medical bills were set aflame in a metal bucket.
