St. John's worked alongside the North Carolina Trail of Tears Association to honor the story of the Cherokee people at Sand Town, a post-removal town in Franklin. A special dedication event for signage will be held Saturday, June 3 at the church. This site is the first to be recognized by the state.

Bishop José Prepares for Sabbatical
Bishop José will be on sabbatical May 25–Sept. 12. While away, he will travel to London to work alongside the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, complete his private pilot's license, attend to coursework in conflict mediation, and travel with his family.

Register for Camp Henry
Spots are still open for Camp Henry, the Outdoor School,
and the new Bilingual Camp!
- Camp Henry runs from Sunday at 3 p.m. to the following Friday at 6 p.m.
- Traditional sessions run according to the campers' school level—Elementary, Middle, and High School sessions are available.
- Camp Henry Outdoor School (CHOS) is an option that takes campers backpacking, rafting, and climbing. The regular CHOS sessions for Middle and High School campers are suited for beginners, and CHOS Amplified is for M and HS campers that enjoy even more adventure.

Bilingual Camp is a new offering for campers who speak Spanish, especially those from families where English is not their first language. This session is the first of its kind for all ages, even parents who would prefer to attend with their children.
Financial Aid is available for all students.

Committee Calls for Presiding Bishop Nominations
The Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of the Presiding Bishop issued a call for nominations on May 15. The committee recently released a profile for qualified presiding bishop candidates based on information gathered from thousands of responses to a churchwide survey and interviews with church leaders.

Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency Course
The Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency Course (ELMC) is an innovative intensive course Aug. 12–18, designed for diocesan staff, clergy, lay leaders, and seminarians to gain practical knowledge and cultural competency for Latino/Hispanic ministry. All courses are conducted in English.
