Christmas Offering brings relief to feeding program
Dear Friends,

I am thrilled (really thrilled) to announce that our Christmas Offering benefiting the feeding program at First Hispanic Presbyterian Church of Oakland brought in $19,553. This figure includes donations given in worship, online and through the Nicholson Family fund.

In addition, there were donations of $920 made to the feeding program through the Alternative Gift Market (AGM). So, the total amount given from our church to this important ministry during this Advent Season exceeded $20,000.

Upon hearing the news about the offering, Irma Hernandez, Commissioned Lay Pastor and Church Administrator at First Hispanic Church was overjoyed, exclaiming “God is great, and God is good!”

Irma estimates the gift will fund the feeding program for one year, providing nutritious groceries to families who continue to be hit especially hard by the pandemic.

Thanks to all of you who participated in this offering!

And thanks to Mission Action Team (MAT) for their work, especially Swee Ling Chen who headed up the project.

With gratitude in being your pastor,

Dr. Steve Schibsted
