Invest in your workforce by helping your employees get the skills and knowledge required to foster innovation and adapt to the changing business needs due to the pandemic.

The Manitoba government is partnering with Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Winnipeg to launch Retrain Manitoba, a $12.5 million workforce skills development grant program that will help Manitoba to move to the next stage of economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Employers can apply for training funding up to $2,500 per employee, up to a maximum of $75,000.

Altona Police Reports Public Health Visit Results
Over the course of Tuesday November 16-17 2021, Public Health Inspectors visited Altona and Plum Coulee to conduct compliance checks for the Covid-19 Prevention Orders, as well as routine inspections.

Eighteen businesses and organizations were visited and only one ticket was issued to a customer for non-compliance.

Altona Elks Cash Calendar
The Altona Elks are selling 2022 Elks Cash Calendars . All the proceeds go to community projects ! Such as the following past projects ;

MEC Playland , Smartboard Elmwood School , Skate Park , Altona and Area Family Resource Center , Kiddie Sunshine Centre and Speech and Hearing , etc.

Your One-Stop Shop for Christmas Gifts
Are you looking for a gift that is "One Size Fits All" and will not be held up in a "Supply Chain"? Look no further; the perfect gift is Altona Chamber Bucks, available at the Chamber office, Town of Altona and Co-op Gas Bar.

In this past year we sold $217,010 and $193,137 has been redeemed. Only Altona & District Chamber of Commerce Members can redeem Chamber Bucks.
They are available in denominations from $5 to $100. We take small and large orders.

Results of Christmas Hours Survey
The Chamber of Commerce circulated a survey on November 21st to find out what Altona & Area businesses were planning with regard to opening and closing during Christmas weekend so we could share the information with our Members.
Our response size was fairly low (but higher than the national average) and noted that most will be open on Friday, December 24th until at least 12:00 noon and will be closed on Monday, December 27th.
As expected, some will be open all days except December 25th and some (mostly agencies) will be closed for the whole week between Christmas and New Year's.
