All Candidates' Forum

SAVE THE DATE: Thursday, October 13th, 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Rhineland Pioneer Centre.

The Altona & District Chamber of Commerce will host an All Candidates Forum for those running in the upcoming Municipal and School Board election (Oct 26).

Candidates will receive an invitation with their election packages.

All are welcome to attend.

RRTVA Hosts Consultations

Lane Curry from the Red River Technical Vocational Area (RRTVA) is working with various high schools, students, and school divisions in Southern Manitoba with vocational programming. High school students are able to obtain some technical training certification towards their particular trade through Apprentice-ship Manitoba.

Knowing that many stakeholders in the region also value the skilled trades and development, Apprenticeship Manitoba invites interested businesses to attend a consultation in the morning of Thursday, September 28^th in Winkler. Apprentice-ship Manitoba performs planning consultations every 5 years and would like to hear from the stakeholders. The invitation deadline has been extended so please contact Apprenticeship if you would like to register for this event.

There will be an RRTVA tour of the local high school vocational programs in Winkler and Morden from 2- 4pm for those people that may be interested seeing our accredited RRTVA programs.

Minimum Wage to Increase

Following consultations with the Labour and Business communities, the provincial Minimum Wage will increase to $13.50 per hour on October 1, 2022, with subsequent increases to $14.15 and $15 to occur on April 1, and October 1, 2023, respectively.
