Alumnae Spotlight
Michelle Calcagno ‘97 recently graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. She has been admitted to attend the University of California, Berkeley where she will pursue an M.S. in Structural Engineering in the fall.  
"Most people are teenagers when they enter college and have to choose a major. I was a 17-year-old student at the University of Illinois–Champaign, and I chose to major in finance. What did I really know about finance? What do most students know about what a lifetime in their chosen major or career path will be like?

Many students, including 17-year-old me, choose a career path based on what they think or what someone told them will be a “good job.” The negative aspects of most professions are not the ones that are emphasized at career fairs. So, unfortunately, many people don’t find out until after beginning their career that their chosen path is not the best fit for them.

My story is a little different."

From "Inside" Trinity
We are so proud to share that Trinity’s senior class had a record-breaking number of monetary college scholarships awarded! Thanks in no small part to College Counselor Katie Granholm, the Class of 2020 was awarded over $33,451,000 in scholarship offers, averaging $312,000 per student!  Katie Granholm tirelessly worked with her Trinity seniors as well as many colleges and universities during this uncertain time, helping ease the stressful college decision-making process. Through her support, she helped students make their best and final decisions regarding schools. This amazing senior class deserves the best sendoff possible!

We are looking for alumnae photos and stories from surviving life in quarantine to share in the upcoming issue of The LINK. Help us by submitting a snapshot of what life currently looks like for you and your family! Examples include a brief story and photos of: 
  • our front-line alumnae workers in action; 
  • inventive ways you have pivoted your business or continued to do your job in these unusual conditions; 
  • a socially-distanced alumnae gathering or Zoom call screenshot;
  • at home celebrations of the completion of college or post- graduate degrees; or, 
  • modifications made for any other life milestones or family moments that you would like to share in The LINK! 
#BlazerReliefFund
As the world continues to grapple with the widespread effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain committed to the advancement of our shared mission—the empowerment of young women through a Trinity education. To ensure that our young women can return to Trinity regardless of possible financial implications from COVID 19, we have established the #BlazerReliefFund. To date we have raised over $190,000.00 to support our young women with vital tuition assistance which will allow them to continue to receive an outstanding education in Trinity’s supportive single gender environment.
