ALUMNAE SPOTLIGHT

Charline Belfort

From Deerfield Beach to Distinguished Degrees

“My name is Charline Belfort, and my journey with Women of Tomorrow® began during my sophomore year at Deerfield Beach High, thanks to my best friend who introduced me to the program. I joined—and the rest, as they say, is history!”

Charline’s path has been nothing short of inspiring. As a first-generation Haitian-American, she has turned adversity into achievement, earning not only a Bachelor’s degree in Family & Child Sciences, but also a Master’s in Educational Psychology (Learning & Cognition) and a Certificate in Program Evaluation, all from Florida State University.

Turning Pain Into Purpose

At just 13, Charline experienced the devastating loss of her father. Watching her mother raise the family alone instilled in her a deep sense of responsibility and resilience. “There was pressure not to take for granted the opportunities we came here for,” Charline shares. “Women of Tomorrow® became one of those pivotal opportunities.” The guidance and mentorship she received gave her strength during those formative years, and helped her realize she wasn't alone.

A Moment She’ll Never Forget

“Women of Tomorrow® truly paved the way for me, enabling my first two years of college to be paid for through Florida Prepaid.
I'll never forget the look on my face as scholarship after scholarship, name after name, was called. I was getting so nervous, and then...my name! I was stunned, shocked, but most of all, immensely grateful. I definitely shed some tears on that faithful day!
Thank you to Women of Tomorrow® for connecting me with amazing women who not only believed in me, but helped me believe in myself.”

Full Circle: Lifting Others As She Climbs

Today, Charline is paying it forward as a College Life Coach at Florida State University, working with first-generation students in the same CARE department that supported her during her own college years. “It’s truly a blessing to provide a safe space, a listening ear, and guidance to these students, knowing firsthand what it's like to be in their shoes,” she says.

Outside her professional role, Charline is the creative heart behind Positively Laline, her business dedicated to designing affirmation coloring books that spread love, positivity, and empowerment. While her official website is still in the works, her creations can currently be explored on Instagram at @One_with_Laline.

Words of Wisdom from Charline

“To all the incredible ladies in the Women of Tomorrow® program and our wonderful supporters:
You are here for a reason. Never let anyone tell you that you don’t belong or that you don’t have what it takes to achieve your dreams!
When life gets hard and it feels like everything is falling apart, remember—what doesn’t kill you is only meant to make you stronger. It’s shaping you into the best version of yourself you’re ultimately meant to be.
Now, go out and do amazing things! 😊”
