A letter from Alumnae Board President,
Michelle Missaggia Daly '88
Dearest Carondelet Alumnae,

I hope this finds you and your loved ones safe, healthy, and with peace of mind. You each continue to be in my thoughts and prayers during this topsy-turvy time. I often feel like this is a bad dream and struggle to find the words to offer comfort and reassurance. I embrace the sentiment that we are all in this together, despite our separation or isolation.

I’ve been reflecting on our current situation and thinking of ways to establish a sense of normalcy. Of course, family and faith carries us through, and I believe our Carondelet Alumnae Association also has the power to fill gaps in our lives. Strengthening our sisterhood and lifting one another up may be the best thing for us during this uncertainty.

I need and want this to happen, but it will take a collective effort. So here is my invitation to you: Please join me on the Alumnae Association Board to support each other and all others who need a sense of sisterhood. I welcome all current, past, and new Board members to participate. Bring along your friends and daughters! We’d love to hear your ideas and desires. Together, we can build an Association that serves us all.

Our Director of Alumnae Engagement, Ann Schiffenhaus ’86 P’19, P‘22, has already created two new initiatives starting this fall:
  • College Connections – connects Carondelet students with current or recent graduate college students to learn about the collegiate experience
  • Career Exploration – (virtual career day) allows current students and alumnae to speak with fellow alumnae in a field/industry of interest

Because of social distancing requirements, all Board meetings will be held virtually via Zoom for the 2020-2021 academic year. This provides flexibility and opportunity for alumnae near and far to engage in our Association. We intend to have meetings every other month, beginning in September on a non-Monday week night.

Has this piqued your interest?
Please email me directly with your intention to stay on, join, or re-join our Board and I will happily follow up with details. If you’re not interested or able at this time, I look forward to keeping you on my update list unless I hear otherwise from you.

Thank you for reading my dissertation. I promise to never speak this much at our meetings.

May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand until we meet again,
Michelle Daly ’88 P’17, P’23
For a six-week period this July and August, the Alumnae Engagement Office surveyed CHS alumnae to understand your experiences, attitudes, and concerns around three key areas; diversity, equity, and inclusion during your high school years.
Of the 4,800 alumnae contacted via email, more than 790 participated. This 16-percent response rate exceeded expectations, but confirms our belief that you want to be heard because of the importance and significance of this issue.
“We are grateful to have heard from so many alumnae and will use the data collected to inform our work with the Board of Trustees, faculty, and students to move the initiative forward,” said President Annette Richardson Eros ’85. “We are working to refine and implement a comprehensive plan to provide direction for the school’s effort toward ensuring cultural proficiency, inclusion, and equitable access in fulfillment and commitment to social justice.
The Carondeletter is being sent out in November... is your current address on file?
Each year hundreds of Carondeletter Magazines are sent back to us due to wrong mailing addresses. This year we will be mailing one Carondeletter Magazine per physical address, so if we think you still live with your parents or you've moved recently, please update your information below.
Career Days
Wednesdays, Sept. 16 - Oct. 21
Career Day is traditionally a cornerstone event in which alumnae return to campus and discuss their professional insights with our rising juniors and seniors. This year's experience will be virtual, and we hope this allows more alumnae to be engaged, both near and far.

Career Day is an outstanding opportunity for our alumnae and our students to make meaningful connections. Often this day leads to mentoring opportunities, guidance with senior projects, and relationships that sustain through the years.

Career Day will be offered via Zoom during the Exploratory Class period on Wednesdays 2:00-3:00 PM PDT from September 16 - October 21. Students will sign up online and submit questions in advance.

If you are interested or would like to learn more about Career Day, please contact Ann Schiffenhaus '86 P'19, P'22 at Please also join the Carondelet Alumnae LinkedIn Group today!
College Connections
Wednesdays, Sept. 23 - Oct. 28
"Which College?" Do you remember asking yourself that question?

What if you had the chance to speak with an alumna about her college experience before deciding?

CHS students want to talk to current college students or recent college grads!

If you are a current college student or a recent graduate (2018-2023), our students would love to speak with you! They're curious about college and campus life, your academic path, sorority life, athletics, clubs and organizations, etc.

Virtual calls will be held on Wednesday afternoons this fall during Exploratory Class periods. Click Let's Talk below to sign up. Thank you for providing this important alumnae connection to our students.
