Carondelet Alumnae e-News l December 2020
Thank you, alumnae, for making Visions of Christmas a tremendous success!
More than 400 alumnae, parents, students, and Carondelet community members tuned in live to enjoy virtual Visions of Christmas. It was a warm, spirited, and entertaining night with alumnae, students, and faculty sharing their experiences of CHS. We listened to a beautiful duet of O Holy Night, heard from our students how your donations impact them directly, and the Class of 1973 (Louise Rousseau Gee, Patricia Morris-Plise, and Sue Solger) shared their memories of wearing PE bloomers. Our alumnae showed their support with 50 alumnae joining the event live and 177 alumnae donating over $40,000 this holiday season. The newly announced Sisterhood Fund raised over $56,085 that night with 64 alumnae donating $28,750!!
Wendy Richardson Pauli '83 shares why she pledged $5,000 in support of the Sisterhood Fund:

"Carondelet is a wonderful community for women, and the Sisterhood Fund is important because it removes financial barriers so everyone has the same opportunity to experience and participate in extra-curricular activities. The Carondelet experience is much broader than the classroom covered through tuition, and the Sisterhood Fund allows every student access to every Carondelet opportunity."
The Barry Sisters
Allison '15 & Lauren '17
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, we, two sisters born a year and a half apart, and living now on opposite coaststhe younger in Massachusetts and the older in Californiatook jobs (virtually) as field organizers for the Biden-Harris campaign. Navigating work in two of the most contentious counties in PennsylvaniaErie and Alleghenyour jobs in the 2020 presidential campaign rebuilt the “Blue Wall” and our relationship as we fought to turn PA back to blue.

Our common goal of flipping Pennsylvania dissolved our physical distance and brought us closer as sisters; we came together for something much larger than ourselves and our family.

2021 Guest Speakers needed

This fall, 30 alumnae joined us virtually to share their experiences in high school, college and their careers.

Each Wednesday, from 2:00-3:00 PM PST, guest speakers met with students via Zoom to talk about college life, their careers, and reflect on what they were like as a CHS student.

It was a great experience for all and we'd love you to consider being a part of our 2021 programming. Please email Ann Schiffenhaus
Journey Retreat Leaders

COVID has been rough, but it can't kill our spirits! Campus Ministry is actually able to provide an adjusted, COVID-compliant Kairos-like retreat for seniors this year called "Journey."

Did you lead Kairos? We are looking for alumnae who led Kairos to join us as alumnae chaperones at our six remaining retreats next semester, starting in mid-January.

If interested, please email Director of Campus Ministry, Edie Payne for retreat dates, information, and a link to the discernment form.
Sisterhood Week Stories

Campus Ministry and Student Activities is beginning to plan our celebration of St. Joseph's Day and Sisterhood Week.

They'd like to include short videos of alumnae sharing about their experience of the Sisterhood at Carondelet and/or how the CSJ Sisterhood empowered or inspired them in life after high school.

Journey Retreat Chaperone 2020
Adriana Smith '14
It was an absolute joy to be a part of the senior retreat and watch them grow in sisterhood and their faith, as they prepare to start their adult journey.

As an alum, I was able to connect my high school experience with theirs and together my small group processed their time at Carondelet and looked ahead to their futures. It was really amazing to watch the seniors deepen their personal connection to the CSJ values, and share the ways those values have time and time again been present in my life.

These seniors show absolute resilience and strength as they head towards their journey beyond CHS, and the Journey Retreat showed them they do not walk walk alone.
