Dear St. Rita Alumni and Friends,
We are thrilled to share that the momentum at St. Rita is stronger than ever, and it is in large part because of you. The 35th Annual Caritas Gala Valentine's Dinner Dance with over 400 guests in attendance raised over $450,000 for our Guaranteed Scholarship program! Your support inspires us to reach new heights and maintain our position as the premier all-boys Catholic school on the Southside of Chicago. We are our proud to announce our 2024 Hall of Fame Class, this distinguished group of individuals embodies the values and excellence that define St. Rita.

Brian Deenihan and Tom Rooney, both graduates of St. Rita High School's class of 2021, went their separate ways after graduation, attending different universities. Despite being in the same classes at St. Rita, they never really interacted. However, fate brought them together when they both applied to study abroad in Europe and ended up at the University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland, unbeknownst to each other. Upon coincidentally spotting each other on campus, they initially dismissed the possibility of recognition, but curiosity led them to reconnect via text messages. Their chance encounter in Dublin led to plans to explore the city and its surroundings together, highlighting the lasting impact of connections forged at St. Rita, even across continents and years. Their story exemplifies the unexpected and enduring friendships that can arise from the St. Rita community, demonstrating that these connections can manifest anywhere, anytime, and continue to enrich lives long after graduation. | |
