Hello CCNY alumni! Last Friday was an exciting day on the City College campus--Commencement! Congratulations to all of the 2024 graduates, and welcome to the Alumni Association! Don't forget to sign-up for your FREE membership (two years) in the Alumni Association. It's our graduation gift to you. It is free but you must opt-in: visit www.ccnyalumni.org/join.
The Alumni Association was proud to participate in the College's Main Commencement and Division/School ceremonies that took place earlier in the week. At the main commencement ceremony, we led the march of the anniversary classes, and Vivian Gornick '57, our 2023 Townsend Harris Medalist, served as the Commencement Speaker.
As you recall your own commencement day stories, if you would like to share a graduation memory or early career success story for the Alumnus magazine, email us at [email protected].
A gentle reminder to our members that annual memberships expire on June 30th. We invite all of you to stay connected to your fellow alumni and join or renew your membership in the Alumni Association today. During the verification process, graduates will have the opportunity to confirm their data and provide any additional information that may be missing. They will also be given the options of purchasing a printed or digital directory and CCNY alumni merchandise, with no obligation to purchase either.
More information is forthcoming. For specific inquiries about the project you can contact the Alumni Association at 212-234-3000 or email [email protected]. OR you can contact PCI customer service helpdesk at (800) 982-1590 or via email at [email protected].

On April 28th, a multi-media staged reading of Ercolé & Megara: A Couple’s Journey was presented at the
Wild Project’s East Village theater In conjunction with the Fresh Fruit Festival, All Out Arts, and the Wild Project. The play was written by CCNY alumnus Lester Cook, class of 2021. The show is a fascinating emotional journey taken by a lesbian couple, both in the act of “transitioning” – one physically, one emotionally. It is the story of two people who love each other and chose to stay together while they
find their voices in a society tries to dictate to them what they should be. What started as an undergrad writing project has evolved into a story that asks one to look deeper into what they know about transgender people, and their partners, families, and friends. The first public presentation was at Crossways Theatre where Nicholas Leung directed and CCNY Professor Dr. Kathleen Potts produced.
Congratulations Lester -- your alumni association is proud!
