News Briefs

CCNY Made: Profiles in Grit

Congratulations to author and philanthropist Ronnyjane Goldsmith, whose father Abraham Goldsmith graduated from City College in 1934. The award-winning author earned herself yet another award at the 2024 NY Book Festival (compilations/anthologies category).

Ms. Goldsmith is a member of the CCNY Society of 1847 and a donor. She holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from Temple University, and worked in public service for more than two decades before becoming an entrepreneur and philanthropist. CCNY Made: Profiles in Grit tells the stories of a selection of CCNY's famous alumni, spanning generations. Proceeds from the sale of her book are dedicated to the Delancey Street Fund at CCNY established by Goldsmith to assist students facing catastrophic and unforeseen life events.

CCNY Made: Profiles in Grit is available for purchase on Amazon.

We believe this book can serve as an inspiration to current students and encourage interested alumni to gift a book to a current student through our "Gift a Book" donation program. You can learn more here: www.ccnyalumni.org/donate.

CCNY graduates will be contacted over the next six months via postcard and email by a team of PCI customer service members asking for their participation in the upcoming alumni directory. During the verification process, graduates will have the opportunity to confirm their data and provide any additional information that may be missing. They will also be given the options of purchasing a printed or digital directory and CCNY alumni merchandise, with no obligation to purchase either.

More information is forthcoming. For specific inquiries about the project you can contact the Alumni Association at 212-234-3000 or email info@ccnyalumni.org. OR you can contact PCI customer service helpdesk at (800) 982-1590 or via email at customerservice@publishingconcepts.com.
