Dear Fellow Alumni,
Spring is always a special time at City College. It’s a season of momentum—of celebration, renewal, and looking ahead. As we prepare to welcome the Class of 2026 into our alumni community, we are reminded of the enduring strength and impact of the CCNY network.
In this issue, you’ll find so many examples of that impact in action—from the extraordinary achievements of our alumni in the Alumni Spotlight to the vibrant lineup of events bringing our community together across campus and beyond. Whether it’s gathering for Homecoming: Day on the Hill, attending a Broadway outing, volunteering to welcome graduating students, or reconnecting through one of our many affiliate groups, there are more ways than ever to stay engaged through your Alumni Association.
You’ll also see just how powerful a City College education continues to be. Our alumni are shaping industries, advancing access to healthcare, designing the future of our built environment, and creating meaningful art that moves and inspires. Their stories are a reminder that what begins at City College carries forward in extraordinary ways.
As always, I encourage you to stay connected—and to play an active role in this community. Attend an event. Join or start an affiliate group. Volunteer your time. And, if you haven’t already, please consider renewing your membership. Your support fuels the programs, connections, and opportunities that make this Association thrive.
This is your Alumni Association. And together, we are continuing to build something meaningful—for each other, for today’s students, and for generations to come.
Warm regards,
| |
David Covington
Executive Director
Alumni Association of CCNY

Grace Wong '13, '15MSEd is making her mark as a cross-genre composer and recording artist, blending classical training with contemporary Pop and Jazz influences to create deeply personal and evocative music.
Her growing discography has already surpassed 36,000 streams on Spotify, featuring standout tracks like “Miss You In The Rain,” a heartfelt tribute to her late grandfather, and “Mirror,” which reflects her journey through a period of personal challenge and self-discovery.
Most recently, Grace celebrated an exciting milestone: hosting her own ticketed recital at the PianoPiano Theater, where she performed original works that showcase her unique artistic voice and genre-blending style.
Grace credits much of her artistic foundation to her time at City College, where mentorship and training helped shape her path from student to professional musician.

Dr. Paul Schwartz (BS Chemistry ’69; PhD, CUNY ’74) has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Accessible Medicines (AAM), recognizing a remarkable career dedicated to expanding access to safe, affordable medications.
Over a distinguished 35-year career at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Dr. Schwartz played a pivotal leadership role in the approval and ongoing quality assurance of generic drugs. His work helped transform the pharmaceutical landscape: during his tenure, generic medications grew from approximately 20% to more than 90% of all prescriptions filled in the United States.
This shift has had an extraordinary impact—saving billions of dollars for patients and the government, while ensuring that millions of Americans can access the medicines they depend on.
Congratulations, Dr. Schwartz—your Alumni Association is proud of you!
