president and CEO of Gray Television as well as Atlantic American Corporation, an insurance holding company.

Named All Academic Big 12 for Golf 2018

Cole Kerns , a 2016 graduate of Vanguard, recently earned his Commercial Pilots License with Multi-Engine and Instrument Ratings at the University of North Dakota on April 4, 2018.

Kyle Cooper, Class of 2015, currently a junior at Texas A&M University, was just accepted into the Undergraduate Summer Research Program. This program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to immerse themselves in research under the guidance of The College of Engineering faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and advanced graduate students. Kyle will work with his major professor to engage in research projects in the nationally recognized research lab and prepare a poster presentation based on this research for a conference in the Fall. He is majoring in Biomedical Engineering (with a minor in Electrical Engineering) and plans to study the inner ear to develop devices to improve hearing. Specifically, he plans to research how the inner ear converts sound into electrical signals and how the auditory cortex interprets these signals. This summer research program is designed to prepare students for graduate studies and Kyle plans to go right into a PhD program after he graduates in May 2019.
