ANNUAL CRUSADER FUND
The Annual Crusader Fund has officially kicked off for the 2022-2023 year.
Your donations are imperative in assisting in the enhancement of our facilities, athletic programs, financial assistance, emergency funding, and our general operations.

Branden Schiralli '98
Branden is a financial planner and managing partner of South Florida Financial Services, LLC. We are also excited to announce that Branden is the new CEO of The Crusader Varsity Club. The Crusader Varsity Club is an exclusive club for Newman Alumni that earned a varsity letter in their sport. Branden, an athlete himself, continued to play football after Cardinal Newman for the University of South Florida.

Greg Lewis '78 and Kenny Lewis '02, owners of Conkling & Lewis, as well as project manager, Tyler Day '10, are working on a development in Ft. Pierce, King's Landing. While preparing the land they were contacted by city officials about their plans for concrete boulders. Conkling & Lewis happily agreed to donate roughly 500 tons of boulders that will now be placed near the Fish America Foundation Reefs and will be used to form a "high cryptic space reef."

Milan Bolden-Morris '17 took to the field as the first female assistant for a school in the Big Ten. She will be working specifically with quarterbacks at the University of Michigan this season.

Dana Pucci '05 was recently named as one of Jupiter Magazine's One to Watch for 2022. Dana runs the South Florida public relations firm KNPR. The agency works with clients from Miami to Jupiter and specializes in real estate, hospitality and travel.

Melissa Devlin Lazarchick '00 and her husband Bill, were the chairs for the 11th Annual Highballs & Hibiscus fundraiser in support of Woman and Children's Services at Jupiter Medical Center. The event took place on Saturday, September 24th at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa.

Brendan Quinlan '15 recently married his wife Kendel, the Youth Director at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Vero Beach. He and his wife have organized bible study groups for all ages and the summer camp. The two are expecting their first child, a baby girl, due on October 15th. Brendan, a leukemia survivor, along with his father, who is battling lymphoma are also involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Justin Godfrey '08 and Team Godfrey, which was made up of many Newman Alumni, participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run on September 24th.
Justin was a patient at St. Jude in 2002 when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Together Team Godfrey placed 9th out of 71 teams and raised over $3,000.

Paige Vaughan Coyle '13 and her husband Patrick baptized their daughter Rory on October 1st at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, GA. Rory's Godmother, Carole Ann Vaughan '09 is also a Cardinal Newman Alumni.

Alex '05 and Christian '08 Le Clainche were also named as one of Jupiter Magazine's One to Watch for 2022. The brothers own Pumphouse Coffee Roasters. They pride themselves on "employing their own techniques to develop the flavor, sweetness, and body of the coffee." Be on the lookout for the expansion of their location at Grandview Public Market. The Pumphouse Pouratorium's grand opening is this month.

FIRST ANNUAL ALUMNI FOOTBALL KICK OFF
|
Over 100 alumni of all ages and their families joined us on September 16th for our first annual 'Kick Off' of the football season. Cardinal Newman, who is 4-0, hosted Doral Academy Preparatory School in our first home game of the season. Delicious food was provided by The SOSO, owned by Alex DiSchino '08 and Kye Akavia '08. We are already looking forward to making next year even better.

1972 Football
The 1972 football team and their cheerleaders met back on campus on October 3rd to celebrate 50 years. Together the team only lost 1 game that year and were the Sertoma Bowl Champions and Suncoast Conference West Co-Champions.

DEBATE TEAM
The Cardinal Newman Debate Team participated in their first Debate Competition at Wellington High School on Saturday, September 24th. They did a great job and walked away with an impressive number of trophies.

CARDINAL NEWMAN BAND
The Cardinal Newman Band, led by Mr. David Bayardelle was set to play during the FAU halftime show on September 10th, but unfortunately, their performance was cancelled due to the weather. The band also performed "The Star Spangled Banner" for the Miami Marlins v. Washington Nationals on Friday, September 23rd.
