Class of 1984 - August 3, 2024

Our 40th LJHS Reunion is happening! We have no doubt that this will be an amazing and memorable event for our 1984 class. Located at the stunning Catamaran Resort Hotel on Mission Bay - our reunion will be luau-style, in a beautiful outdoor environment with a spectacular bay view. Enjoy cocktails at sunset, a delectable dinner together under the stars, and dancing the night away if you so choose.

The Alumni Association Needs Your Help!



We are looking for alumni who are interested in volunteering for the association. Many hands make light work, as they say. We need help with maintaining the alumni database, alumni communications, assisting classes in their reunion planning, etc. Please email LJHSFoundation@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the team.

Annual Alumni Baseball Game

The LJHS baseball program celebrated their 30th annual alumni game on February 17th. This is the longest running annual event at the high school! The alums were represented by 7 decades of former Viking players. Dave Jordan (1955) was the most experienced alum, and Dr. Mike Adams (1990) traveled the farthest distance, coming all the way from Stillwater, Minnesota.

Kyle Zimmer (2009) was inducted into the LJHS baseball hall of fame during a pre game ceremony, along with brother Bradley (2011) and Malaika Underwood (1999).

The 2024 varsity team hung on for a thrilling 6-2 victory......a great time was had by all!

Funds raised at Viking Casino Night are most critically needed to continue providing students with a college information specialist, a 4th academic counselor, and funding for extracurricular enrichment, including advisors for clubs, academic teams, and tutoring.

LJHS STUDENT LIFE

The LJHS Theatre Department performed Chicago Teen Edition to a packed crowd this winter.

A record 6 students from the LJHS Speech and Debate qualified for the State Speech Tournament. The team won 1st place in the San Diego Imperial Valley division A sweepstakes, for the first time in team history.

The ASB Winter Formal, "Sweetheart's Dance," was held at Paradise Point Hotel on February 10.

Congratulations to the LJHS Mock Trial Team! They competed in the San Diego Mock Trial Competition against 40 other schools and ranked #3 in San Diego.
