THE EXPLORER : ALUMNI EDITION
September 2018
Dear Friends,

I’m excited to be writing my first Alumni Explorer as the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement. I grew up in Camp Hill (I’m a Cedar Cliff High School graduate – class of ’06!), and have always wanted to work at Harrisburg Academy. With a passion for both education and non-profit work, it is a privilege to be here!

I hope to be a great resource for you as we work hard to engage with our alumni and provide the same support you received here as a student. In order to ensure that we are providing you with all of the information and updates from the Academy, below you will see that you now have the opportunity to use ON Suite to personally update your information.

This summer has certainly flown by, and it is hard to believe the 2018-19 academic year is upon us. As our students begin another year within the cherished halls of Harrisburg Academy, I’d like to take the opportunity below to keep you updated on not only the activities of our successful alumni, but also updates and news from the Academy as well.

We hope you will join us for the Alumni Achievement and Athletic Hall of Fame Awards in McCormick Auditorium on Oct. 12, 2018 to support this impressive group of alumni, as well as join us after the ceremony has ended for a reunion celebration.

We will keep you up to date of other alumni events for this year as well. We have some great plans and we look forward to sharing them with you!

With Spartan Pride,
Lindsay Swartz
Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement

HA Forges Lifelong Friendships
On Sunday, May 13, 2018, Don Jacobs '82 graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Don obtained concentrations in both Strategy and Organizational Leadership. The night before, a small subset of graduates including Don were honored by SNHU for graduating with 4.0 GPAs. This was the first graduation Jacobs attended since his HA graduation in 1982 because "none of my undergraduate degrees were as important to me as my Harrisburg Academy experience or graduation."

Most importantly, the "fearsome twosome" of Don Jacobs '82 and Bjorn Sigurdsson '82 met up in NH with their families for a meal and absolutely fantastic time together.
