INSPIRATIONAL LIFE
Today's inspirational message:
Matthew 1:21
"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins"
The SMC Alumni Commmunity is saddened by the loss of Richard Hartl '55
Dick’s capacity for making a difference was amazing and inspiring – especially in the lives of SMC students. His understanding and willingness to pioneer new projects and think about how we structure things differently has made a tremendous impact in the area of our technology and VEX programs. Through all of his SMC interests, he never lost sight of the gift SMC gave him so many years ago. His passion to give today’s students that same gift of a quality Catholic education through tuition assistance, and then offer the UW-Madison scholarship to those who excelled during their time at SMC, is a true testament to his faith in SMC.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to those who supported our inaugural St. Mary Catholic Schools  Zephyrs Give 20 on November 20th  campaign! With your generosity, $1,230 was raised to help us continue our tradition of academic excellence for our students!

Dakota Bayer, an SMC 2014 graduate

Dakota was a 4 year member of our STEM Education Club and robotics team. He now is in the Coast Guard stationed on the West Coast in Washington State. Dakota is an Avionics Electrical Technician. When part of an air crew flying aboard a rescue helicopter, he is the Flight Mechanic and one of his responsibilities is operating the rescue basket and hoist. He provided a video of a recent rescue he assisted with of an unconscious boater off the coast of British Columbia. You cannot see his face, but you can see Dakota operating the hoist and rescue basket that lifted the patient into the helicopter. You can also hear him telling the pilot where to position the helicopter and information about the status of the rescue. He then hoists up the rescue swimmer. Congratulations Dakota!

Adoration prayers for Alumni in God's Service

Starting in December we will have a special intention during Friday Adoration for an Alum who is serving God. Our next adoration date is December 14th and we will start with Jace Scheffler '14, who is a seminarian studying in Rome this semester. It would be great if he could be remembered at the 7:15 am mass that morning. As is our new custom, we will be sending a card to Jace to let him know we are praying for him. His mom will also be attending mass that day as well as some of his family may take part in adoration.
Any help in spreading the word about our special intention would be great! Please sign up for adoration :

May They Rest In Peace

On Thursday, November 1, St. Mary Catholic High School celebrated a Remembrance Mass with special prayers for alumni and friends of the school who passed away in the previous year. Each deceased member of our community was represented by a family member or student who carried a lit candle as part of the procession into Mass. During the liturgy, the names of deceased loved ones were read aloud as part of the litany.
