🙏 SACRED UPDATES
Dear Priory Alums,
I see elsewhere in this new alumni newsletter that you are all being encouraged to “stay Priory”. I would like to start by giving you a short update on the monks who “stay at Priory”. We are currently three permanent monks at Priory: Fr. Martin, Fr. Maurus, and I, Fr. Matthew. Fr. Mathias from our Abbey in New Hampshire comes to help out for a few months at a time, which is much appreciated. This coming year, we will also have a visiting monk from Hungary for the month of August, Fr. Mark, raising the number of Priory monks whose names begin with the letters Ma… to 5! We will also have Fr. Kelemen from Hungary as our guest for most of the next academic year. Each of us continues to serve the Priory community of students, colleagues, alumni, and friends as we are able, continuing to build relationships that literally last a lifetime.
In future editions of this newsletter, we will feature more monastic stories, memories, and pieces of wisdom to help us all to “stay Priory”. Our prayer of blessing for each of you is that the Benedictine values experienced during your years here will continue to deepen in you and be generously shared with those around you. In this way, the Peace so valued by St. Benedict and all his followers may grow in you and through you into a world so desperately in need. Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.
Peace,
Fr. Matthew, Fr. Maurus, Fr. Mathias, and Fr. Matthew
