RESIDENCY PROGRAM IN INTERNAL MEDICINE
Summer 2018
Dear Alumni,

Greetings #BMCIMRES_ALUMNI! We are very pleased to bring you an extra special edition of the alumni newsletter.

As another academic year begins, we welcome our new interns to BUMC and welcome the residency class of 2018 to the alumni community. The beginning of a new year also offers us opportunities to ask for your help in planning the year's activities.

Our residents are involved in an array of career development and scholastic activities outside of their clinical tasks. Currently, the funding for these activities is solely out of pocket for individual residents. While the program is able to offer a breadth of extracurricular activities, we need YOUR HELP to make these opportunities accessible for all. Contributions of any size to our ALUMNI GIVE 2018 campaign are greatly appreciated and will go toward funding resident participation in opportunities offered by our 6 pathways (listed below.)

We are also excited to invite you to reconnect with old friends and enjoy some fun in the sun at our 2nd Annual Alumni Barbecue! If you'll be in the Boston area, join us for this family friendly event in Franklin Park on Sunday August 26th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. We look forward to catching up with you!

As always, we are pleased to bring you news from the BMC Residency community and updates from our Alumni and Housestaff Spotlights. This edition we check in with Dr. Amanda Vest, class of 2009, a cardiologist at Tufts University Medical Center and Dr. Krupa Patel, a 4th year resident in the combined IM-Preventative Medicine program.

If you would like to contribute anything to share with your peers, please email Mackenzie.Keyse@bmc.org , and we would be happy to feature it in a future newsletter.

Happy Summer,

The residency program hosted it's annual Senior Resident Academic Day on May 25, 2018, showcasing a variety of research and educational projects by our senior residents. Intern Orientation 2018
Getting the newly minted intern class ready for rounds requires some intense training and orientation.
