Summer 2019
We played our first season of HOME football games in our own backyard and had a great season! The team went 11-1 into the 3rd round of the State play-offs. Multiple players were recognized throughout the season by and the Optimist and Kiwanis Clubs. Jermaine Brown was named the 1A Player of the Year. Four players committed to collegiate teams. Graduation tradition continues as the graduates celebrate "Passing Through the Gate"

  • Robotics had its best year ever! At this year's Jubilee BEST Robotics competition our Robotics Team won: 3rd Place Robot, 4th Place BEST Award (overall), 2nd Place Marketing Presentation, 3rd Place Exhibit Booth and Interviews, 3rd Place Spirit and Sportsmanship, and the Heart of Jubilee Best Award for a Positive Attitude. The team advanced to the South's BEST Regional Robotics Championships at Auburn University and finished 16th overall.

  • St. Luke's received a Stephen P. Robinson Collaboration Grant which enabled our students to print, on a 3D printer, the parts for prosthetic hands and then assemble the hands for 12 children around the world! We invited Covenant Christian School to assist with the assembly. Watch the video here!

  • The Southern Association of Independent School sent their accreditation team to visit and we received excellent feedback! Thanks to alumni Mary Page Martin ('14) and our current parents/alumni Melissa Griffith and Rian Haynes the SAIS committee received great feedback from constituents!

  • We added 3 new banners to the gym: 2018 Football Regional Champion and 3rd Round Playoffs (11-2), 2019 Boys Basketball State Runner-Up, 2019 Girls Tennis State Runner Up

  • Boys Basketball advanced to the Final Four and finished as 2A State Runner Up.

  • Girls Basketball advanced to the Final Four.

  • Girls volleyball competed in Division 3A for the first year and won their 9th consecutive Area Title advancing to the Regionals.

  • The Swim Team had 2 members compete at the State Swim Meet.

  • The Girls Cross Country Team qualified for the State Meet.

  • The Boys Cross Country Team members qualified for the State Meet as individuals.

  • The Girls Tennis Team finished with 2 doubles teams claiming state championships and one single's state championship.

  • Individual members of the Track Team qualified for the State Meet.

  • Six members of the Class of 2019 committed to play athletics at the collegiate level!

  • We upgraded the landscaping! Thanks to the Board of Trustees for new sod and walkways the campus looks great...and green!!!

St. Luke's Episcopal Church announces the hiring of a new rector! Rev. Jamie McElroy, his wife Peyton and 2 children are joining our St. Luke's family. We are very excited to welcome them! Read his welcome letter and bio.

Headmaster Mike Notaro will be retiring after the 2019-2020 school year. The Board of Trustees is working with the Southern Teachers Agency to seek qualified candidates. Updates on the search are posted on the school's website. Head of School Search
Amy Cowling married Graham Davis on May 5, 2019.

Vincent Oberkirch graduated from the University of South Alabama.

Lauren Staab graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Masters in Speech Pathology.

Morgan Williamson ('13) and Clint Humphrey ('14) married on March 30, 2019.

Sarah Blackwell graduated from the University of South Alabama.

Austin Davis spent 7 months at The Basic School (Quantico, VA) after graduating from the Naval Academy. He has recently reported to Pensacola where he will be living while he attends flight school.

Jewel Hill graduated from Spring Hill College in 2018 and is working as an IT Administrative Assistant for the SSI Group.

Clint Humphrey and Morgan Williamson ('13) married on March 30, 2019.

Mary Page Martin graduated from Samford University in December of 2018 and has been accepted to the Auburn University Harrison School of Pharmacy in Mobile.

Brooke Pate married Michael Bennett Brantley on April 6, 2019.

Amanda Phillips graduated from Coastal Alabama Community College with a nursing degree.

Catherine Milwee graduated from Spring Hill College and is now attending PA school in Arkansas.

Annie Tillman graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in elementary and special education.
Hayden Crigler graduated from Auburn University. Hayden is engaged to fellow AU graduate Savannah Rae Boyle, the daughter of SLES teacher Mandy Boyle.

Tanner Chastain graduated from University of West Alabama as a scholar-athlete with honors.

Mary Enger graduated from Mississippi State University.

Chet Hendrix graduated from Mississippi College with a nursing degree.

Matthew Holland graduated from Samford University.

Chloe McGuire graduated from Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University.

Ashlyn Murphy graduated from Baylor University and will head to University of Texas San Antonio for PA school.

Jensen Sirmon will be directing her Senior Capstone Film, Harper Rose, at Belmont College this August.

Sara Taylor will spend her summer interning for the U.S. Economic Development Administration in Washington, D.C. Sara was also elected President of her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi.

Landon Connell has been offered an internship with the Alabama International Trade Center for the fall semester of 2019. He will be working with companies in Alabama to assist them in globalizing their business.

Zach McCleery continues his studies at USA and has been certified as an EMT. He will spend his summer working for Lifeguard Ambulance.

Kendarius Floyd is attending the University of South Alabama and is a member of the Jaguar Football Team.
