Mercyhurst has begun its “Self-Study” process, a comprehensive review of the whole university that is initiated by our accrediting body, the Middle States Commission for Higher Education (MSCHE or Middle States, as it’s sometimes called). This review will culminate in a visit from the Team of Peer Evaluators representing MSCHE in Spring of 2022.
To spearhead the review process, there is a Steering Committee composed of Dr. Joanne McGurk (chair), Dr. Carrie Allen, Dr. Dyan Jones, MSG President Abby Staub, Mr. Jeff Taylor, and Dr. Laura Zirkle.
To begin the review process, MSCHE asks an institution to determine “intended outcomes”—the kinds of things we at Mercyhurst would like to achieve as a result of studying ourselves for the next two and a half years.
That’s where you come in.
The Steering Committee needs to know from you what you’d like to see as an outcome of all the evidence gathering and analysis of policies, procedures, structures, and data that Mercyhurst University produces as we all conduct our work lives.
Because an effective “self-study” process really does need everyone to take part, the Self-Study Steering Committee could definitely use your help.
