NYCPM Introduces Prospective Students to PM Profession and College at NY23
On Friday and Saturday January 20 and 21, the weekend of NY23: the New York Clinical Conference, NYCPM hosted events for prospective students that gave them tastes of the podiatric medical profession and opportunities to speak to current students and faculty.
On Friday, NYCPM hosted a presentation about podiatric medicine, led a suturing workshop, and had lunch for prospective students and advisors. The suturing workshop was led by Susan Rice, DPM (1988) with help from Matthew Bernstein, DPM and students William Stallings (2023), and Alex Fleischman (2023).
On that Saturday, prospective students were given a tour of the Clinical Conference, led by Jeffrey Cusack, DPM (1981) and Loretta Logan, DPM (1989), took part in a variety of workshops and had lunch with current students at nearby restaurant The Yard House. Sponsored by Empire City Labs, respected clinical and pathology labs in the tristate area, the lunch (in photo above) was arranged with the help of NYSPMA President Maria Branca (1994) and Executive Director Dan Kline, as part of their support for NYCPM’s recruitment work (as well as for the profession in general).
