Elections and Holidays are Coming Up

The month of November is upon us and what a busy month it will be!
Our students have completed their first quarter of the academic year and some of you have already connected with their teachers at our Parent-Teacher conferences. Having been present for the New Student-Parent Welcome night, I know that many of you have entrusted your students to us for their freshman year. Though your Saint Joe careers were in a different building, I'm confident that your children will have a similar successful, faith-based experience here where — supported and taught by a dedicated and talented faculty and staff — they will be prepared to serve God, the Church and the world.
And with the autumn foliage and falling leaves comes Election Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving. One of the lessons I hope all of my previous Government students learned was to take advantage of our precious right to vote at every opportunity. We are so fortunate to live in a nation where the people choose their elected officials, so I want to encourage you to please exercise that right by voting on November 8 — it is so vital to our democracy.
As the calendar draws closer to November 11, please take time to remember and thank any veterans that you may know. These are the men and women who answered the call to serve their country and to protect the freedoms that we enjoy. To the many alumni who are veterans, thank you for your service.
With Thanksgiving also around the corner, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a happy and blessed holiday. I hope you are able to be among family, friends and give thanks to God for all He has provided.
