Holy Cross Brothers Celebrate Jubilees
Two Holy Cross Brothers who served at Saint Joseph High School will celebrate significant jubilees at a liturgy and banquet on Saturday, April 30.

Brother Roy Smith, C.S.C. was a faculty member from 1965-1967 and currently serves the order as Director of Development for the Midwest Province. He will celebrate 60 years as a Holy Cross Brother.
Brother Robert Dierker, C.S.C. has been a member of the order for 70 years. He served faithfully in the Attendance Office at Saint Joe from 1973-2010. He is currently in retirement at Columba Hall on the Notre Dame campus.

The Saint Joseph High School community is thankful for the years of service to our school, the Church, and the Order provided by Brother Roy and Brother Robert and wishes them God’s continued blessings.

Saint Joe baseball is out to a 4-1 start after dropping the opening game of the season to Plymouth in extra innings. The team bounced back with wins over New Prairie, Concord, and Washington before facing Marian this week.

The Holy War on the Diamond was played Thursday night, with Saint Joe senior ace Jack Quinn spinning a gem en route to a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts in the 1-0 win.

The boys head to the Catholic Classic in Lafayette this weekend before games against Bremen, Adams, and Clay next week.
Softball is 7-0 on the season and currently ranked fourth in the state. They have outscored their opponents 43-0 over their last four games, including an 11-0 win in the Holy War over Marian.

Freshman Berkley Zache (pictured on left with sister Riley, right) has been dominant in the circle, hurling a perfect game on Thursday night against Clay with an impressive 18 strikeouts.

The girls travel to Bremen and Adams next week before taking on Lakeshore at home. Next Saturday they are set to compete in the LaPorte tournament.
Boys lacrosse ascended to the top-ranking in the IHSLA last week following their win over Vicksburg. They dropped a game against a tough Culver team last Wednesday, falling 10-8, but showed their team unity after the game by presenting senior manager KJ Anderson with his own letterman jacket.

The boys take on IHSLA #2 Guerin Catholic Friday night before tilts against Northridge and Marian next week.

Girls lacrosse is set for a double-header this weekend, traveling to take on Chesteron and Avon on Saturday. They will be at Penn on Wednesday before returning home to host Northridge on May 2.
Girls tennis is 3-0 on the young campaign with wins over Elkhart, Adams, and Penn. The team is looking to build on an impressive 2021 season. Defending singles state champion Molly Bellia, only a sophomore, is out to a strong start, having dropped only one game in her six sets this year.

The girls have a busy weekend, traveling to take on Brebeuf Jesuit on Friday before playing the best-of-the-best at the Park Turdor invite on Saturday.
