Joshua Thompson 'Class of 1992'
                THEN- 1992                                                      NOW- 2018
Joshua Thompson, 1992 Big Red graduate  is the   Director of Orchestras at Westwood High School in Austin, Texas. The program at Westwood is nationally recognized and has 170 students separated into 4 different levels of orchestra.

Significant achievements
Joshua has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Youngstown State University and a Master of Music Performance in Instrumental Conducting from the University of Kentucky, where he served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. 
Professionally, Joshua has taught for 19 years in Georgia and Texas. He was named Teacher of the Year at his former school, Shepton High School, in Plano, Texas.
Joshua also became a competitive distance runner in his adult years, and represented the city of Dallas a citizen ambassador to Japan in the Sendai Half Marathon in 2015.

Favorite high school memory
Playing trumpet solos at Harding Stadium in front of thousands of people.

Advice to the Class of 2018
Work hard in whatever field or vocation you choose. Success in life is truly measured by what you put into it.
