Vincent Nanney

Southside Virginia Community College alum Vincent Nanney graduated from the College's HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) program 39 years ago. He was recently in Alberta and decided to take the opportunity to visit the Christanna campus and buy the SVCC sweatshirt he had wanted for years!

A Dinwiddie County High School graduate, Vincent worked at Central State Hospital as an air-conditioning/refrigeration mechanic's helper while studying HVAC at SVCC. After graduation, he was employed by Pfizer for 23 years and retired as a lead mechanic in the HVAC department. Missing work, he decided to rejoin the workforce and has been with VCU in Richmond in the Building Automation department for the past nine years.

When asked what advice he would offer current students, Vincent says, "Stay interested in what you are doing and keep learning...changes happen rapidly."
