What Have We Been Up To?
Returning Falcon Reaches Her Goal
In 1999, Livin’ La Vida Loca was on the radio, The Matrix was playing in movie theatres, and Angela Miaoulis was beginning her studies at what was then Felician College.

More than two decades later, Miaoulis accepted her Bachelor of Arts degree from what is now Felician University at American Dream in East Rutherford, cheered on by her husband James and their three children.

Miaoulis sees the delay in completing her undergraduate degree as a blessing rather than a detour. She started as an elementary education major and enjoyed the field work, but in her sophomore year, realized teaching was not her calling. She changed her major to English with a minor in communications and got involved with Felician’s Little Theatre and radio station. Read more.
Felician Falcons Fly Together
As part of a continued effort to support students in their personal and professional development, Felician University is providing mentoring opportunities thanks to a newly launched mentoring program entitled Felician Falcons Fly Together.

Felician engaged the software platform Mentor Collective to administer the program and provide an interactive, responsive, professional, mentoring experience. Mentor Collective gives students access to the research, services, and technology needed to build an inclusive culture of mentorship and facilitate the most robust connections between students and alumni. 5 Questions for New Alumni Association Board President Antonella Lo Bue
1. What made you decide to attend Felician University ?
Felician University made me feel at home. It was clear to me early on that Felician was not only a university but a community. Professors and staff wanted to see you grow and achieve all that you could for a successful future. I have built many lifelong friendships as a student and an alumna.

2. What is your most impactful memory from your time as a student?
As an undergraduate student, I was a member of the Felician School of Business American Marketing Association. This is where I found my passion in marketing and sales, and what led me the career path I have chosen.

3. How did Felician prepare you to enter the workforce?
Throughout my college experience, I always felt that Felician set you up well for the reality of the workforce. That understanding gave me the confidence to better adapt and think more critically in my job situation. The Felician Franciscan values have been essential in helping me become successful in my career particularly as I assumed leadership roles.

4. Why did you get involved with the Alumni Association?
I appreciate all Felician has done for me as a student.  I joined the Alumni Board as a way to give back. My time on the Board has been an adventure – I truly enjoy every minute of it! I appreciate how much closer I have become to the Felician community. I love speaking to students and new alumni about what we have going on and how the Alumni Association is a continuing connection to Felician. The Board is the bridge, and we can help, take advantage of us!

5. What can Alumni do to support the mission of the University?
Get involved however much or little you can! Join us for Homecoming weekend to reconnect with your past classmates and the reason why you chose Felician. Look back at the part of your Felician experience that has most shaped your career or who you are today, whether a professor helping you get through a tough class or winning a Division II sports championship and keep Felician spirit a part of you. Give back with your time(volunteer), talent (mentor) or treasure(gift). Curious how? Contact me.

Felician Alum Robert Bing '10 Named Partner at Sionic
“The Felician MBA program taught me to listen, think, and then speak. I found myself asking more questions and talking less, and then when I did speak it was more powerful.” -Robert Bing ’10

In April, Felician University Entrepreneurial Leadership MBA alumnus Robert Bing was named partner in the Banking & Markets practice at Sionic, a global consulting firm specializing in financial services with offices in London, Toronto, and New York, where Bing is based.

A client lifecycle management (CLM) expert, Sionic tapped Bing as a partner in their Banking & Markets practice where he is tasked with expanding Sionic’s CLM for the US markets. Read more.
