Alumni eNews - May 2025

Dear SFHS Alumni,

Please join me as we extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the Class of 2025, our newest alumni! Graduates - as you embark on this exciting next chapter, know that your connection to our school remains strong and vibrant.

It was a pleasure to celebrate our Graduation Liturgy & Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 18. The Class of 2025 is now part of a legacy, a network of individuals who have walked these same halls, shared similar experiences, and carry the values instilled within our Catholic tradition.

This newsletter is an ongoing link to our alumni community and school, where we share updates on school news, upcoming alumni events, opportunities to connect with fellow graduates, and stories celebrating the achievements of our alumni community.

To all of our alumni, as you enjoy your summer and celebrate weddings, new babies, and career achievements, please remember to stay connected, stay involved, and know that we all have a home here at SFHS!

Easter Egg Hunt Photos

Thank you to all our alumni and their families who joined us for our first annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 22!

The mood was positively joyful as we saw so many familiar faces and a new generation creating memories at our school. Thank you to the SFHS Alumni Association for coordinating the event and WCS Photography for the great pictures.

Spartan Sweethearts: Spring Edition - Vol. 2!

Spring is in the air...and we have more Spartan Sweethearts to share! These couples met during their time at SFHS and went on to get married. We have 186 married couples in our records, and we're sure there are more! If you and your spouse are Spartan Sweethearts, please email jlavigueur@sfhscollegeprep.org with your names and a picture of you "then" and "now."

Alumni Updates

Soon-to-be Spartan Sweethearts: Congratulations to Patrick Flood '13 and Samantha Brahler '13, who are engaged to be married on September 13 of this year!

Samantha and Patrick reconnected years after high school and have been together since 2019. In June 2024, Patrick proposed with the help of their beloved dog, Carl. The couple is excited to tie the knot this September with several fellow Spartans standing by their side, including Samantha’s sister, Elizabeth Brahler '17, along with Sarah Pinns '13, Grant Framburg '13, and Patrick’s siblings, Caroline Flood '10 and Charlie Flood '12.

Congratulations to Chris and Lauren Duncan ‘10 Capovianes! Lauren is a volleyball alum and works with the program as it yoga instructor.

Alum Julia Mills '19 ran and completed the Boston Marathon this year!

Capital Campaign: Phase 2 Update

Earlier this month, we shared that the second phase of construction in our Progress Can't Wait - Secure Our Future Today Capital Campaign begins at the end of May! This phase includes college preparatory updates to all 12 North Hallway classrooms, as well as updates to the hallway corridor itself. These exciting updates will be ready for students at the start of the 2025-2026 school year! We are so grateful to our donors who made this progress possible.

The new and improved classrooms are inspired by our successful Showcase Classroom, which was completed last summer. The innovative space is equipped with flexible furniture, advanced technology, modern flooring, and improved storage.

Academic departments rotated use of the Showcase Classroom throughout this school year, and we received overwhelmingly positive feedback about how it significantly enhanced faculty and student experiences. Imagine this impact in an entire hallway of classrooms!

We are excited about the continued momentum of the campaign and will keep you updated on our progress (including photos!) throughout the summer. We are committed to reaching the campaign goal, which allows us to fund and complete the ambitious vision and essential capital improvements detailed at the onset of the campaign.

If you would like to learn more about getting involved, email President Phil Kerr at pkerr@sfhscollegeprep.org or Anthony Holter at aholter@sfhscollegeprep.org.
