Stratford Festival's virtual cabaret series spotlights Windsor alumni
On January 28 the Stratford Festival released its first major musical project since the pandemic cancelled the 2020 season. Up Close and Musical, is brimming with contributions from UWindsor alumni. Suede Production's Nicholas Shields BA '95 and Cameron Hucker BA '03 were cinematographers, Cameron and Jordon Krug BA '02 were editors and Aaron Hucker BA '09 was technical director. Alexis Gordon BFA '12 stars in the production directed by Dr. Antoni Cimolino BFA '94, DHum '04.

The concerts are available on Stratfest@Home, the festival’s monthly subscription service. Watch for free at Thursday night watch parties on the festival’s YouTube Channel. The first performance premiered January 28.

A new local initiative #DineYQG will support locally owned restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, take and bakes, wineries, breweries and distillers at a time when their businesses have been severely impacted by COVID-19. Many local restaurants remain open for take-out, delivery or curbside orders. No in-person dining is currently allowed under Provincial Lockdown guidelines.

Art outside of the rules
For many years Ted Shado BFA '75 taught visual art at the secondary school level, managed his architectural firm and taught architecture all while creating and exhibiting art at galleries and juried shows.

Shado recently decided to create art for the art aficionado and display his work on the worldwide web. He draws abstract images on the computer and photographs the images. View his works.
